    • Lands on IL with adductor strain
The Twins placed Lewis on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right adductor strain.

Advice: The 25-year-old was removed from Tuesday's game against the Detroit due to left groin tightness, but it's now being reported as a right adductor injury. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Lewis is dealing with a Grade 2 strain and will be sidelined through the All-Star break before being reevaluated. Even in a best-case scenario, he'll likely miss some time behind that while building back up to game readiness. Prospect Brooks Lee was called up in a corresponding move and should take over as Minnesota's primary third baseman while Lewis is out. Rotowire.com Today, 1:44 pm

    • Twins place Royce Lewis (groin) on 10-day IL
Twins placed INF Royce Lewis on the 10-day injured list with a right adductor strain.

Advice: Unfortunately, the 25-year-old superstar heads back to the injured list where he has spent far too much time over the past three seasons. Twins’ general manager Derek Falvey told reporters on Wednesday that Lewis will be sidelined at least through the All-Star break and will then be re-evaluated. Top prospect Brooks Lee had his contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move on Wednesday and he should see plenty of action while Lewis is shelved. • Jordan Romano (elbow) has arthroscopic surgery
The Blue Jays announced Wednesday that Jordan Romano underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair an impingement in his right elbow.

Advice: Jays’ manager John Schnieder told reporters that he’ll be shut down completely for the next six weeks before he’s able to resume throwing. That means there’s no certainty that he’ll be able to return before the end of the 2024 season. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues without IL spots can safely cut bait on the 31-year-old closer. Expect Chad Green to continue holding down the fort in the ninth inning for the time being. Rotoworld Today, 1:16 pm

    • Undergoes elbow surgery
Romano underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Tuesday to repair an impingement and will be shut down from throwing for at least six weeks, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 31-year-old has been unavailable due to elbow issues since late May, and it's now unclear whether he'll be able to pitch again this year. Romano missed the first couple weeks of the season with elbow problems and never looked himself in the six weeks he was available with a 6.59 ERA in 15 appearances. Chad Green has stepped up as Toronto's closer with Yimi Garcia (elbow) also on the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm

    • Described as pain-free
Yamamoto is no longer feeling pain in his right shoulder, but he hasn't yet started throwing, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain two days after being able to complete only two innings in his most recent start June 15. While the rookie right-hander is now pain-free, he isn't yet throwing, and manager Dave Roberts indicated that there's no clear timeframe for when the hurler will pick up a ball again. The organization figures to be cautious with Yamamoto, and he almost certainly won't return to action until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 12:55 pm
    • On bench Wednesday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: After making back-to-back starts behind the dish, Murphy will give way to Travis d'Arnaud on Wednesday. Murphy swatted a solo home run in Tuesday's series opener against San Francisco. Rotowire.com Today, 12:20 pm
    • Homers in second straight
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vaughn got the scoring going with a home run in the first inning, his 11th of the season and second in as many matchups. He also extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 7-for-16 with five RBI and six runs scored. The recent stretch has also brought Vaughn's OPS to .701, its highest mark at any point this season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:12 am
    • Traded to Milwaukee
The Brewers acquired Civale from the Rays on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league infielder Gregory Barrios, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Civale has an ERA north of 5.00 through 17 starts this season, but his xFIP is almost a full run lower at 4.09, and he should help stabilize the rotation for the division-leading Brewers. Shane Baz was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday and appears a likely candidate to replace Civale in the Tampa Bay rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 am

    • Civale traded to Brewers
Brewers acquired RHP Aaron Civale from the Rays, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

Advice: The Rays acquired Civale last July from the Guardians in a deal for Kyle Mansardo. He went 4-9 with a 5.17 ERA in 27 starts for the Rays. Civale has a 5.07 ERA despite a 4.09 xFIP this season so this could be a shrewd pickup by the Brewers. Not much has changed with his fantasy value as he moves into the Milwaukee rotation.
