      Megill (elbow) threw a perfect inning while striking out three Saturday against the White Sox.

      Advice: Megill appeared in the seventh inning in a tied game. Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. X-rays came back negative, but he still needed a few days off. It looks like he's back to full speed and should step back into the closer mix despite appearing earlier in the game Saturday.       Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

      Advice: Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come.       Crochet didn't factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Crochet's now logged quality starts in five of his last six outings, posting a stellar 1.03 ERA in that span (35 innings). The 24-year-old left-hander continues to provide a bright spot on a rebuilding White Sox team -- Crochet's ERA is down to 3.49 on the year with a 0.93 WHIP and 93 strikeouts, good for second most in the league.     • Trevor Megill (elbow) returns to action Saturday
      Trevor Megill (elbow) returned to action on Saturday and looked no worse for the wear, striking out all three batters that he faced in a scoreless inning against the White Sox.

      Advice: It wasn’t a save chance, as it was the seventh inning of a game where the Brewers trailed 3-1, but it was nice to see Megill look as dominant as ever after taking a scary line drive off of his arm during Monday’s game.     • Alexis Díaz nearly blows save versus Cubs
      Alexis Díaz escaped with his 11th save after giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: Díaz got lucky when a pitch that hit both Nick Madigal’s hand and the knob of his bat was ruled a foul ball and was then fortunate again when Madrigal, as the tying run, was thrown out at home plate trying to score on Seiya Suzuki’s double. Díaz has a 5.91 ERA this season. He’s walked 15 and hit three batters in 21 1/3 innings. He’s simply not worthy of trust right now, but since he’s blown only two saves and the Reds don’t have anyone else they’re really wanting to turn to, he’ll probably remain in the closer’s role for now.     • Walks tightrope for 11th save
      Diaz earned the save Friday against the Cubs despite allowing a run on two hits in a walk in the ninth inning.

      Advice: Diaz allowed the first two baserunners to reach safely before surrendering a one-out double to Seiya Suzuki. While one run scored on the play, Jacob Hurtubise would throw out Nick Madrigal at the plate as the tying run before Diaz got Cody Bellinger to fly out, sealing a 5-4 victory. While it didn't come easy for Diaz on Friday, he's now converted four straight save opportunities while allowing just one earned run in his last 5.2 innings. Diaz's ERA still sits at an uninspiring 5.91 with a 1.55 WHP and 22:15 K:BB across 21.1 innings this year. He's converted 11 of 13 save chances overall. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:40 pm

      Megill (elbow) could be unavailable to pitch for a few days, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. While X-rays came back negative and he has avoided the injured list for the time being, Megill might need a little time for the elbow to calm down.       Estevez pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

      Advice: The Angels rallied ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Estevez made the lead stand. The closer has allowed four runs (three earned) over 8.1 innings in May while adding three saves, one blown save and two losses.
