    • Pete Fairbanks picks up sixth save
Pete Fairbanks worked a scoreless ninth and earned a save Sunday against the Orioles.

Advice: Fairbanks has settled three saves in three weeks since coming off the IL last month, but he’s been exceptional. The only run he’s allowed in 10 appearances was an unearned one from the automatic runner scoring in extra innings. Rotoworld Today, 1:47 pm
    • Cole Irvin turns in quality start versus Rays
Cole Irvin pitched 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball Sunday versus the Rays.

Advice: Irvin didn’t miss bats today and settled for just one strikeout, but he allowed two runs or fewer for the seventh straight start. We doubt he’ll spend the entire next four months as a contributor in mixed leagues, but he’s a decent enough play for now. Rotoworld Today, 1:47 pm

    • Paul Sewald grabs save
Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save against the Mets on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

Advice: Sewald seems to relish the opportunity to close games against the organization that gave up on him and did so on back-to-back days this weekend. This was the first time all season the Diamondbacks used Sewald on consecutive days as he continues to get more comfortable since returning from injury. Rotoworld Today, 1:47 pm
    • Jake Diekman blows save
Jake Diekman allowed two runs on Sunday to blow the save for the Mets against the Diamondbacks. He recorded just one out.

Advice: Diekman was called upon for the save as the Mets continue to shuffle their closer role in the wake of Edwin Díaz’s struggles and recent injury. Ketel Marte took the lefty Diekman deep as a right-handed batter, his better side of the plate, as he did the same to left-handed starter José Quintana in the first inning. It’s hard to know who will get the next save chance in New York, but it likely won’t be Diekman. Rotoworld Today, 1:46 pm

    • Andrew Heaney stifles Marlins in win on Sunday
Andrew Heaney threw six shutout innings in a 6-0 win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: The left-hander allowed just four hits and struck out seven while walking none. Heaney leaned heavily on his slider and change-up, getting a 42 percent whiff rate or higher on both pitches despite not throwing either one in the zone more than 40 percent of the time. It may have mainly been about who he was facing, but fantasy managers with Heaney won’t complain. The let-hander now has a 3.99 ERA on the year and could keep it going next week in a decent start against the Giants. Rotoworld Today, 1:43 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias earns 15th save
Raisel Iglesias pitched a clean ninth inning on Sunday against the Athletics to earn the save.

Advice: Iglesias grabbed another save, but once again did not strike a batter out. His 18.6 K% entering play Sunday is by far the lowest for any reliever with at least 10 saves and should give some concern moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm

    • Luis Medina solid in season debut
Luis Media struck out six Braves across 5 ⅔ innings on Sunday in his season debut. He allowed just one run and walked two in a no-decision.

Advice: Medina had been sidelined with a knee injury but looked to already be in mid-season form Sunday. His curveball looked different than it did last season - dropping three inches less and coming in two ticks harder. Atlanta swung and missed six times against it and Medina mixed it well against hitters from both sides of the plate. Also importantly, Medina issued just two walks after an 11.5 BB% held him back in 2023. He’s worth keeping an eye on. Rotoworld Today, 1:24 pm

    • Simeon Woods Ricardson takes no-decision
Simeon Woods Richardson yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Woods Richardson gave up homers to Victor Caratini and Alex Bregman, but he allowed just one other hit in the outing before exiting after retiring the only batter he faced in the fifth. Woods Richardson has been quite good in compiling a 3.05 ERA for the Twins, but this makes four times in nine starts that he hasn’t been given the chance to complete five innings. It’s part of why he’s just 2-0 while the Twins have gone 7-2 in his starts. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm
    • Jhoan Duran gets 10th save against Astros
Jhoan Duran earned his 10th save with a perfect ninth against the Astros on Sunday.

Advice: Duran typically throws his 100-mph fastball 45 percent of the time, but he used it just once in a 17-pitch outing today. He struck out one and got a couple of routine outs while focusing on his curve and splinker. He’s now earned saves in seven straight appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm
