    • Getting Wednesday off
Chourio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Chourio is hitting .357 with one stolen base over his first five games of May, but he's still slashing just .193/.233/.263 overall since April 16 and has seen his job security slip a bit as a result. The rookie will find himself on the bench Wednesday for the third time in seven games. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

    • Brewers activate Christian Yelich from 10-day IL
Brewers activated Christian Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Yelich is back in the lineup for the Brewers on Wednesday after he was sidelined for the last three weeks. The 32-year-old outfielder is off to a good start this season slashing .333/.422/.744 with five home runs and 11 RBI in his first 11 games. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Activated, starting Wednesday
The Brewers reinstated Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He'll serve as the Brewers' designated hitter and will bat third in the team's series finale in Kansas City.

Advice: Milwaukee optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Yelich, who had been on the shelf since April 16 with a lower-back strain. Despite missing well beyond the minimum 10 days, Yelich will return to the lineup without having gone on a minor-league rehab assignment, as the Brewers were encouraged enough with how his back responded to baseball activities over the past few days to activate him. He'll be eased back into action in a non-defensive role, and Yelich could end up seeing more work at DH over the next week or two before gradually settling into his usual spot in left field. • Hits bench against lefty
Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Gorman will hit the bench for the third time in the four games while the Cardinals have faced a steady diet of left-handed pitching of late. The right-handed-hitting Jose Fermin will man the keystone while Gorman sits against Mets southpaw Jose Quintana. Rotowire.com Today, 9:26 am

    • Throws seven strong innings
Sanchez (2-3) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing one run on six hits in seven innings while striking out five and walking two.

Advice: Sanchez was coming off a pair of starts in which he allowed nine runs (five earned) in eight innings with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four), so there was some speculation that he could lose his rotation spot or fall into a piggyback situation with Spencer Turnbull where only the latter would have a chance at wins. Instead, Sanchez bounced back with an excellent outing, throwing more than 6.0 innings for the first time this year. Turnbull did follow Sanchez out of the pen, throwing the final two innings, but if Tuesday's outing is any indication, Sanchez will continue to be used as a traditional starter as long as he pitches well enough to remain in the role. • May get another rehab outing
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that the team will discuss whether Fairbanks (arm) will be activated or make another rehab appearance, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Fairbanks allowed two hits but completed a scoreless inning with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday. He averaged 97.3 mph with his four-seamer in the appearance, which is up a bit from his season average. It sounds like Fairbanks could be back as soon as the weekend series against the Yankees, but that decision hasn't been announced yet. Rotowire.com Today, 6:55 am

    • Season debut likely coming Friday
Bradley (pectoral) is likely to make his season debut Friday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: He'll slide into the rotation spot vacated by Ryan Pepiot (leg), who is expected to be placed on the IL. Bradley has been out all season with a right pectoral strain but looked terrific in two rehab starts, most recently striking out eight over six frames of one-run ball with Triple-A Durham on May 3. The right-hander posted a 5.59 ERA but had an impressive 129:39 K:BB across 104.2 innings for the Rays last season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:43 am

    • Edward Cabrera exits with biceps discomfort
Edward Cabrera surrendered four runs in two innings before leaving Tuesday’s game with right biceps discomfort.

Advice: It was assumed his early exit was because of his struggles in walking four and giving up a grand slam, but the Marlins revealed the injury after the game. He’ll presumably return to the IL with the recurring issue. At least the Marlins are getting Jesús Luzardo and Braxton Garrett back. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:52 pm
    • Exits with biceps issue
Cabrera was removed from his start Tuesday against the Dodgers due to right biceps discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cabrera's biceps have given him problems numerous times across the past three seasons, though it's not immediately apparent how severe his latest flareup might be. He was only able to get through two innings before coming out of Tuesday's game, striking out one while allowing four runs on one hit and four walks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:52 pm
