    • Goes the distance in victory
Keller (3-3) allowed one run, five hits and one walk in a complete game victory Monday against the Angels. He struck out five.

Advice: Keller stymied the Angels on Monday night en route to his second career complete game -- his first was a shutout May 8, 2023 against Colorado. The Pirates right-hander induced a whopping 64.0 percent groundball-rate, easily his highest in a start this season, outpacing the 37.5 percent rate he generated on the season prior to Monday. Keller is scheduled to make his next start against the Cubs at home this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:05 pm
    • Mitch Keller pitches complete game versus Angels
Mitch Keller pitched his second-career complete game on Monday and picked up his third win of the season against the Angels.

Advice: Pittsburgh’s ace went the distance on Monday as he allowed just one earned run on five hits and struck out five. His lone run came off a solo homer from Zach Neto. Keller threw 109 total pitches with 75 of them called strikes. In the final frame, Keller got Mickey Moniak and Taylor Ward to strike out and then had Willie Calhoun pop up to left center field. It was an efficient outing from the right-hander as he’ll look to improve his 4.41 ERA against the Cubs this weekend at PNC Park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:02 pm
    • Facing four-week absence
The Guardians expect Kwan to miss approximately four weeks after placing him on the 10-day injured list earlier Monday with an acute left hamstring strain, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Kwan was diagnosed with the acute hamstring strain after undergoing an MRI following his early exit from Saturday's 7-1 win over the Angels. With imaging determining that he sustained more than a mild injury, Kwan will be sidelined well beyond the minimum 10 days, and a more precise return date likely won't come into focus until he reaches the point in his rehab where he's performing baseball activities. The Guardians are likely to turn to Estevan Florial, Ramon Laureano and Gabriel Arias to fill in for Kwan in the corner outfield, while prospect Kyle Manzardo was promoted from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and should take on an everyday role at designated hitter for at least the next few weeks. • Guardians place Steven Kwan on IL
Guardians placed Steven Kwan (hamstring) on the 10-day IL.

Advice: Kwan left Saturday’s game because of tightness in the hamstring, and did not start in Sunday’s finale against the Angels. Kwan has mentioned battling hamstring injuries in theoast, so both he and the Guardians want to be cautious in this instance. Kyle Manzardo was called up from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:26 am

    • Heads to 10-day IL
The Guardians placed Kwan on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Cleveland hasn't disclosed the grade of Kwan's hamstring strain, which he suffered in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Angels. The injury forced him to miss his second game of the season Sunday, and he'll be sidelined through at least May 14 as a result of landing on the IL. The Guardians called up prospect Kyle Manzardo from Triple-A Columbus to take over Kwan's spot on the 26-man active roster, and Manzardo should also inherit an everyday role while the 26-year-old outfielder is on the shelf. Manzardo will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter in Monday's series opener versus the Tigers and will hit seventh, while Estevan Florial will fill in for Kwan in left field and atop the batting order. • Homers, reaches base four times
Winker went 2-for-2 with two walks, a three-run home run, a double and an additional run scored during Sunday's 11-8 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Winker entered the game in a 1-for-21 skid but broke the skid with a couple of extra-base hits, including a three-run homer off Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah that put the cap on a five-run fourth inning for the Nats. The homer was the fourth of the season for Winker, who also later added his seventh double. He's slashing .254/.372/.421 with four homers, 18 RBI, 18 runs and three stolen bases over 131 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:58 pm

    • Homers, swipes bag in four-hit day
Garcia went 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a steal during Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia's third homer of the season was a solo shot in the third and represented the second of his four hits on the day, with three of those hits producing runs. It was the culmination of a big weekend for Garcia, who went 7-for-9 with two walks, two homers, eight RBI and four runs and a steal during the three-game set, raising his average to .337 in the process. • Steven Kwan (hamstring) heading to injured list
Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports that the Guardians plan to place Steven Kwan (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list prior to Monday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Top prospect Kyle Manzardo will be promoted from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move to replace him on the active roster. Kwan exited Saturday’s game against the Angels with tightness in his left hamstring and underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. The result of that exam is not yet known, so it’s hard to speculate just how much time the 26-year-old outfielder may stand to miss. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:27 pm

    • Luis García Jr. goes 4-for-4, homers in victory
Before being lifted for a pinch-hitter, Luis García Jr. went 4-for-4 with a homer and a walk Sunday as the Nationals topped the Blue Jays 11-8.

Advice: Only Dave Martinez, man. It wasn’t even because there was a lefty in that García was pulled. Instead, Martinez brought in Ildemaro Vargas to lay down a bunt in Garcia’s place with a 10-8 lead in the eighth. Most annoying is that it worked out; not only did Vargas bunt the runner to third, but he reached first after the Jays tried and failed to retire the lead man, and the Nationals scored one run in the inning. It was García’s third career four-hit game. He’s actually one of the rare major leaguers to have had six hits in a game, doing so against the Royals last year. García is hitting .337/.381/.510 this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:00 pm
