Kimbrel earned the save Friday in his return following a brief absence due to back tightness, but he had squandered back-to-back save chances before that and Saturday's slip-up puts him on notice with a high-end arm in Cano representing a viable alternative to Kimbrel in the ninth. Kimbrel had blown consecutive save chances before he was shut down, allowing three runs in just a third of an inning.       Advice: Improved control has been a big key for Hicks in his successful run in the Giants rotation, but this is the second time in his last three starts that he’s walked four batters, giving him14 walks in 38 innings for the year. While the four runs against Hicks were a season high, he's still yet to allow more than two earned runs through seven starts.
