    • Shane Baz strikes out six on Thursday at Triple-A
Rays RHP prospect Shane Baz struck out six over three scoreless innings on Thursday for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Baz averaged 96.5 mph on his four-seam fastball, which generated seven swinging strikes in this one, and needed just 70 pitches to navigate three frames. He gave up four hits and also issued three walks. The 25-year-old top pitching prospect has recorded 24 strikeouts over his last three starts since June 8. It’s time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 pm
    • Tosses six strong innings
Bradley allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three batters over six innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Wednesday.

Advice: Bradley didn't have his best strikeout stuff -- his three punchouts tied a season-low mark and were a far cry from the 11 strikeouts he notched his previous time on the mound -- but he nonetheless managed his second straight quality start. The right-hander has rebounded well from a 3.1-inning, nine-run shellacking at the hands of the Orioles on June 1, yielding just three earned runs over 18 frames across his subsequent three starts. Bradley has recorded a 4.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB overall across 44.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:39 pm

    • Taj Bradley delivers quality start against Twins
Taj Bradley delivered a quality start in a no-decision against the Twins on Wednesday night, allowing just two runs on seven hits over six strong frames.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander punched out three batters in the ballgame while issuing a pair of free passes. The Twins threatened in the third inning and pushed a run across as Trevor Larnach grounded into a double play. They tacked on another run in the sixth inning as Royce Lewis belted a solo home run. Bradley got nine whiffs on 104 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of only 21 percent. He’ll carry a 4.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53/14 K/BB ratio (44 1/3 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Mariners. • Cruises to fourth win
Cortes (4-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Orioles, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The crafty lefty was at his baffling best, and the only runner Baltimore got past second base against Cortes came on an Austin Wells passed ball in the sixth inning. Cortes threw a season-high 105 pitches (64 strikes) in the outing, his first time in triple digits since April 20, while the quality start was his second straight and seventh of the campaign. He'll take a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 86:18 K:BB through 93.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:13 am

    • Nestor Cortes blanks O’s for six innings in win
Nestor Cortes pitched six scoreless innings while striking out six to earn the win on Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: Cortes needed 25 pitches to get through the first inning, thanks in part to back-to-back singles by Adley Rutschman and Ryan Mountcastle. He would eventually settle in to pitch six scoreless innings without walking a batter. The five hits Cortes allowed all came on singles as he did everything within reason to hold a powerful Orioles lineup in check. Cortes has been feisty at home all season and draws another home start on Sunday against the Braves. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:16 pm

    • Fans six in no-decision
Fried allowed a run on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Detroit.

Advice: Fried worked five scoreless frames until the Tigers finally broke through with a run in the sixth inning. He wasn't very efficient Monday, throwing 60 of 103 pitches for strikes while failing to complete six innings for the second straight outing. Fried dropped his ERA to 3.11 with a 76:27 K:BB through 84 innings. He's currently in line for a tough road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:18 pm

    • Fried allows one run in no-decision
Max Fried allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Fried gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He left the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning, but Jesse Chavez escaped the jam without further damage. It was a solid start for Fried, though the Braves couldn’t provide him with any run support while he was in the game. He continues to have a nice season as he lowered his ERA to 3.11 with the effort. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road this weekend.

    • Throws bullpen session
DeGrom (elbow) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The session contained only fastballs and marked the first time deGrom has thrown off a mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery last June. Everything went according to plan, and deGrom will continue to the ramp-up process as he eyes a return from the 60-day injured list sometime in the second half of the season. Jacob deGrom threw off a mound Monday for the first time since Tommy John surgery last June.

Advice: DeGrom was limited to fastballs today, but it’s still a big step. He’s still several weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment. Rotoworld Monday, 1:38 pm
