    • On base four times Sunday
Lindor went 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

Advice: The veteran shortstop heads into the All-Star break on a tear. Lindor got on base 10 times in 15 plate appearances during the three-game series against Colorado, and over his last 25 contests he's slashing .314/.397/.549 with nine doubles, five homers, seven steals, 18 RBI and 20 runs. • Delivers scoreless appearance
Maeda came out of the bullpen and threw 3.2 shutout frames during Detroit's walk-off win over the Dodgers. He allowed one hit and struck out five batters.

Advice: For the first time this season, Maeda worked a bulk-relief role and the results looked great. He threw 34 of 55 pitches for strikes and generated 11 whiffs. He was crushed for 15 runs in just 6.1 innings over his previous two outings. Maeda will enter the second half without a clear role in Detroit. He's registered an unsightly 6.88 ERA and 55:23 K:BB through 69.1 frames. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:32 am

    • Launches grand slam
Gelof went 1-for-5 with a grand slam Sunday against the Phillies.

Advice: Gelof's ninth-inning grand slam was the eighth and final long ball of the day for Oakland and put a rubber stamp on an 18-run outburst for the A's. It was the second consecutive game with a homer for Gelof, who has now hit seven over the past 23 games and is up to 12 on the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:25 pm
    • Taylor Ward goes 0-for-3, in 6-for-49 slump
Taylor Ward went 0-for-3 and struck out twice versus the Mariners on Sunday.

Advice: Ward is definitely ready for the break. He’s 6-for-49 with one RBI and 20 strikeouts in his last 13 games, dropping his OPS from .773 to .713, and he’s been stuck on 14 homers since June 25. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:49 pm

    • Camilo Doval gives up two runs, takes blown save
Camilo Doval gave up two runs while getting just one out in the ninth to take his fourth blown save Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Doval has been shaky throughout, though he did come into this one having allowed just one run in his previous nine innings. Today, he faced four batters and retired only one of them, allowing one walk and then a pair of doubles. The rough showing leaves him 17-for-21 in save opportunities and with a 4.38 ERA. His closer’s role has to be in some jeopardy, given that the Giants have plenty of solid alternatives. He certainly can’t afford to blow another save chance right away after the break. • Blows save Sunday
Doval allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Doval's poor performance didn't stop the Giants from winning, but it made things a bit hairy in the ninth inning. The closer had gone five scoreless innings since his last blown save June 28, though he continues to put too many batters on base. For the season, Doval has a 4.38 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 49:24 K:BB over 37 innings while going 17-for-21 in save chances. If manager Bob Melvin changes his approach to the closer job, Doval could lose some of his save share to Ryan Walker or Tyler Rogers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:47 pm

    • Lifts 15th homer
Happ went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Happ has enjoyed a productive July so far, going 15-for-46 (.326) with four homers and 13 RBI over 13 games. The outfielder is up to 15 homers, 57 RBI, 53 runs scored, 23 doubles and seven stolen bases while slashing .243/.352/.548 through 92 contests. Happ has maintained his starting role in left field even through cold stretches, so there's little risk of him losing playing time once this hot streak ends. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:55 pm

    • Begins fielding grounders
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Betts (hand) has started to field softly hit groundballs, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Though Betts hasn't yet been cleared for full baseball activities, taking part in fielding work is an indication that he hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from a fractured left hand. The All-Star was given an estimated 6-to-8-week timeline for a return after sustaining the injury in mid-June, and though he still has a ways to go in his rehab, Betts could be ready to come off the 10-day injured list in early August. Betts has seen the majority of his starts at shortstop this season, though the Dodgers could look to deploy him mainly at second base upon his return. Miguel Rojas has excelled as Betts' primary replacement at shortstop and could be deserving of a full-time role upon Betts' return, while second baseman Gavin Lux entered Sunday's game against the Tigers sporting a lowly .565 OPS on the season. • Resting in series finale
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: He'll get a breather for the series finale after starting at first base in the first two games against Washington while going 1-for-8 with a double, two RBI and a run. Jake Bauers will spell Hoskins at first base Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:47 am
