    • Ronel Blanco starting Sunday against Tigers
Ronel Blanco will start Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: There was talk that Blanco would get some extra rest before making his next outing, but the right-hander will work on regular rest for the finale against Detroit. Assuming the rotation stays the same after this start, his next outing would come against the Orioles. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Drawing start Sunday
Blanco will start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Heading into the weekend, Blanco wasn't expected to make a start against the Tigers, but he ended up getting pushed up in the pitching schedule after Justin Verlander had his turn in the rotation skipped due to a neck injury. As a result of the change in the pitching schedule, Blanco no longer lines up for two starts during the upcoming week. After Sunday's outing, the right-hander is on track to make his next start next weekend versus the Orioles in Houston. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

    • Bright spot in loss
Kelly struck out three over two hitless and scoreless innings in Friday's 8-1 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Kelly was the one of the good things to come out of Friday's loss. He's a pitcher that manager Alex Cora can rely on in multiple situations. "He can go multiple innings, and I think he starts with strike throwing," Cora told Sarah Barber of The Boston Globe. "Strike throwing, I think that's the most important thing." Since his return from Triple-A Worcester, the right-hander has allowed one run, no hits and three walks while striking out 10. Walks could be an issue. Although he's been better in that regard since his return, Kelly has walked 5.1 batters per nine innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:20 am

    • Blows save chance Thursday
Kopech (2-6) blew a save but earned the win over the Mariners on Thursday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over one inning.

Advice: Kopech was summoned in the ninth inning to try to protect a one-run Chicago lead but served up a one-out, game-tying solo shot to Julio Rodriguez. To his credit, Kopech bounced back to retire the next two batters and send the game to extra frames, and he was credited with a win as a result of the White Sox pushing across a run in the 10th. Kopech hasn't been very effective in a closing role for Chicago -- he hasn't notched a save since May 15 and is just 5-for-9 in save opportunities this season. He has a 4.91 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 29.1 innings, though his 13.2 K/9 is characteristic of what most teams look for from a closer. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:08 am

    • Michael Kopech blows save, gets win
Michael Kopech blew a save but picked up a win while allowing a run over an inning of work against the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Kopech gets the win despite allowing a game-tying homer to Julio Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth. The win stat has zero flaws and anyone who suggests otherwise is providing falsehoods. Kopech continues to show the stuff to miss bats, but the command leaves way too much to be desired to completely trust. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:23 pm

    • Bounces back
Kopech struck out two and walked one without allowing a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Mariners.

Advice: Kopech imploded to allow three earned runs and blow a lead in an appearance Monday, but he managed to bounce back in this outing. He entered the game with the score tied at 1-1 and turned in just his third scoreless effort in his last five appearances. Kopech remains the White Sox's primary closer, though his last save came on May 15. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:43 am

    • Secures 19th save
Finnegan gave up a solo home run and struck out one in the ninth inning Wednesday to record his 19th save of the season in a 7-5 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Riley Greene took Finnegan deep with one out to make things interesting, but the right-hander slammed the door shut from there. Finnegan has served up three homers in his last 10 appearances, a worrying trend, but those account for the only three earned runs he's allowed during that stretch. On the season, he sports a 1.91 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB through 28.1 innings. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:39 am

    • Labors in no-decision
Assad did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Assad opened with two scoreless frames then allowed a run in the third on a double by Isaac Paredes and another on a solo home run by Jose Siri in the fourth. With two runners on and two outs in the fifth, Assad was pulled at 90 pitches with a 2-1 deficit. Since his last win on May 15, Assad has failed to reach six innings or record a win in five straight outings and has seen his ERA climb from 1.49 to 2.81. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth versus Rays
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Tyson Miller stranded two runners after taking over for Assad in the fifth. After opening the season 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA in nine starts, Assad has gone 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five turns. The truth for Assad is somewhere in between, of course, but it’s probably a little closer to the latter than the former. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:14 pm
