    • Returns from injured list
The Cardinals activated Contreras (forearm) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at catcher and bat third in the Cardinals' series opener versus Atlanta.

Advice: Contreras was initially expected to miss around 10 weeks after he suffered a fractured left forearm in early May, but he'll make it back from the IL in just six and a half weeks. The Cardinals could manage Contreras' workload carefully as he settles back in with the big club, but fantasy managers should feel free to activate ahead of this week's action. Contreras posted a .950 OPS with six home runs over 31 games before getting injured. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:40 pm

    • Expected back Monday
Contreras (forearm) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game versus Atlanta, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Contreras has played six rehab games with Triple-A Memphis, catching three games and serving as the designated hitter in three others. He's gone just 3-for-21 at the plate in those contests, but the Cardinals are more concerned with how he's feeling and reports on that are favorable. Contreras was initially supposed to be out until around the All-Star break when he fractured his left forearm in early May but will beat that timetable by a few weeks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:45 am

    • Swipes sixth bag
Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: Cruz made plenty of highlights Saturday by blasting a home run into the Allegheny River, but he's slumped with only two hits across 19 at-bats during Pittsburgh's current homestand. He did manage to tally his sixth stolen base of the season Sunday, his first since returning from ankle soreness that caused him to miss games on June 14th and 15th. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:38 am

    • Expects to be out four weeks
Stanton said Sunday that he expects to be out for roughly four weeks as a result of his strained left hamstring, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Advice: Stanton landed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and received a platelet-rich plasma injection to aid in his healing process, but it doesn't seem like the slugging outfielder is on track for a speedy recovery. Trent Grisham could be a candidate to start nearly everyday for the Yankees while Stanton is sidelined, especially if the team decides to use Aaron Judge as its primary designated hitter going forward. • Stanton diagnosed with mild hamstring strain
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday’s game that Giancarlo Stanton was diagnosed with a mild left hamstring strain.

Advice: The 34-year-old slugger received a PRP injection on Sunday as well and told reporters that he expects to spend around four weeks on the injured list. That leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the lineup that the Yankees will need to fill for the next month or so. In 69 games on the season, Stanton has hit a respectable .246/.302/.492 with 18 homers and 45 RBI. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:05 pm

    • Sitting Sunday
Contreras isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Contreras will get a day to regroup Sunday after posting a .494 OPS through 18 games since the start of June. Gary Sanchez will fill in at catcher and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:01 am

    • William Contreras gets day off Sunday vs. Padres
William Contreras is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Pirates.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Conteras after handling the catching duties in three consecutive contests. The 26-year-old has put together a phenomenal season so far, batting .293/.354/.443 with nine homers and five steals across 339 plate appearances over 75 contests. It’ll be Gary Sánchez behind the plate in his absence. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:47 am

    • Placed on IL with hamstring strain
The Yankees placed Stanton on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Stanton exited in the fourth inning of Saturday's 8-3 win over Atlanta after injuring his left hamstring while scoring from second base on a Gleyber Torres double. Trent Grisham came off the bench to replace Stanton on Saturday, and the former could be in line for a near-everyday role in the outfield against right-handed pitching while the Yankees perhaps look to give Aaron Judge and others more time at designated hitter sans Stanton. With Stanton on the IL, the Yankees recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:12 am

    • Giancarlo Stanton lands on IL with hamstring strain
Yankees placed OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Stanton is slated to undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine the severity and how much time he’ll likely wind up sidelined. Fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a few weeks, even if it’s a low-grade strain. The 34-year-old slugger, who has 18 homers in 69 games this season, suffered the injury during Saturday’s contest against the Braves. The timing is extremely unfortunate for the Yankees, and fantasy managers, as there isn’t a clear replacement for him at the moment with top prospect Jasson Domínguez on the shelf at Triple-A due to an oblique strain.
