    • Bobby Witt Jr. steals 20th base of year in victory
Bobby Witt Jr. stole a base while going 2-for-5 in a victory for the Royals over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Advice: Witt Jr. also drove in a run with his single in the seventh, and it gave the Royals a 6-2 cushion. The star shortstop’s theft gives him 20 on the season, and there’s a good chance he’s going to pass the 49 swipes that he picked up in 2023. No one has helped fantasy managers fill categories more than Witt Jr. in 2024. Rotoworld Today, 8:43 pm

    • Pummeled early in loss
Arrighetti (3-6) allowed seven runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 1.1 innings to take the loss versus the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Arrighetti was moved up a day when Justin Verlander (neck) was scratched from his scheduled start. The result was disastrous for the Astros, as Arrighetti gave up three home runs in his shortest outing of the season, though the Astros came into Saturday with a well-rested bullpen. The rookie right-hander has not made a good impression in the majors this year with a 6.37 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 63:31 K:BB over 53.2 innings through 12 starts. With the Astros' rotation already thin, it's likely Arrighetti sticks around for his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to be a tough home matchup versus the Orioles. • Spencer Arrighetti roughed up by Tigers
Spencer Arrighetti allowed seven runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: The Astros moved Arrighetti’s start up a day when Justin Verlander was scratched with an injury and that may have been the wrong move. The 24-year-old had allowed just two earned runs over 14 2/3 innings in his last three starts and had a 15.3 percent K-BB rate and 11.4 percent swinging strike rate over his last four starts. Yet, nothing worked for him on Saturday. He couldn’t find the plate with anything other than his cutter and induced just three whiffs on 20 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW. It’s possible the late change in schedule threw him off, but whatever it was, he remains off the streaming radar next week against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 5:08 pm
    • Brenton Doyle scratched with knee issue Saturday
Brenton Doyle was scratched from the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to left patella tendinitis.

Advice: The fact that he was in the team’s initial lineup before getting scratched bodes well for his availability moving forward. Doyle should be considered day-to-day. Michael Toglia will start in his place in right field and will bat sixth for the Rockies on Saturday night against Jared Jones and the Pirates. Rotoworld Today, 5:00 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Doyle was scratched from Saturday's game against the Pirates with left patella tendinitis, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Doyle was slated to bat second and play center field Saturday but was removed form the starting lineup with left knee pain. Instead, Jake Cave will slide to center, Michael Toglia will play right, and Elehuris Montero will enter the lineup and play first base. Rotowire.com Today, 4:59 pm

    • Oneil Cruz (ankle) remains out of Pirates’ lineup
Oneil Cruz (ankle) remains out of the Pirates’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Rockies.

Advice: It’s the second straight game that the dynamic 25-year-old shortstop has missed at Coors Field due to a sore ankle. The encouraging sign is that is still hasn’t been placed on the injured list, so the Pirates still believe that it’s truly a day-to-day type of situation. Jared Triolo will once again start in his place and will bat eighth against Rockies’ southpaw Ty Blach. Rotoworld Today, 3:27 pm

    • Idle Saturday
Cruz (ankle) isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado.

Advice: Cruz was a late scratch from Friday's lineup with left ankle soreness and will take a seat once again Saturday. Jared Triolo will draw another start at shortstop and bat eighth for the Pirates. Rotowire.com Today, 3:24 pm

    • Kodai Senga (shoulder) throws bullpen on Saturday
Kodai Senga (shoulder) threw around 30 pitches in a successful two-inning bullpen session on Saturday.

Advice: He’ll throw another bullpen early next week and if all goes well with that session, it sounds like Senga will finally be cleared to face live hitters. He’s still going to need several minor league rehab starts before he’s an option to join the Mets’ rotation, but he’s at least taking small steps in the right direction. • Tosses bullpen session
Senga (shoulder/triceps) threw a two-inning bullpen session Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Senga was able to throw more than 30 pitches in the session and he's expected to throw a shorter one next week. The right-hander has been slowly working his way back from a posterior right capsule strain and then a subsequent triceps injury, and he's yet to make his season debut. Senga has already been ruled out for the first half of the season, but if he can build on Saturday's session next week, he'll remain on track to return relatively soon following the All-Star break.
