    • Likely headed to injured list
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said in an interview Tuesday that Mize (hamstring) is a likely candidate to be placed on the 15-day injured list, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio reports.

Advice: Mize had to depart Sunday's start against the Angels with a left hamstring issue. While the initial hope was that he was merely dealing with a cramp, Hinch said Tuesday that it's more serious than that. Mize would be held out at least through the All-Star break if he is indeed placed on the IL. Matt Manning and Keider Montero are candidates to take Mize's spot in the Tigers' rotation. • On track for return after ASB
Anderson (elbow) threw three scoreless innings in a rehab start for Single-A Augusta on Sunday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one.

Advice: After two rehab starts in the Florida Complex League in which he posted a 7:0 K:BB over five innings while giving up just one run, Anderson got bumped up to Single-A and delivered another strong performance as he nears the finish line on his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander built up to 46 pitches (29 strikes) on Sunday, and he's expected to make at least two more rehab appearances before becoming an option for Atlanta's rotation after the All-Star break. • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Cubs outrighted Nittoli to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Advice: He can elect free agency and seems likely to do so given that he did just over a week ago when the Athletics outrighted him off their 40-man roster. Nittoli did not make an appearance during his one day on the Cubs' roster. Rotowire.com Today, 7:19 am

    • Tyler Kinley gets win in 10th inning
Tyler Kinley received a victory for pitching a scoreless 10th inning Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: Only the truly desperate for saves should be rostering Kinley, but he is the top option in the Colorado pen at the moment. The scoreless outing tonight was his fifth in a row, as he lowered his ERA to 8.02. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Bryse Wilson tagged for five runs by Rockies
Bryse Wilson gave up five runs in four innings Monday versus the Rockies.

Advice: The Brewers used an opener in front of Wilson tonight, and Rob Zastryzny worked a scoreless first before exiting. Wilson, though, didn’t benefit from coming in to start the second. His last five outings have seen him give up seven, zero, five, zero and five runs, so maybe he’s due for a good one next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Trevor Megill works scoreless ninth in tie game
Trevor Megill worked a scoreless ninth in a tie game Monday against the Rockies.

Advice: Megill got a visit from the trainer after apparent tweaking his ankle while covering first base, but he was allowed to continue. He wound up preserving the tie in the ninth before the Brewers lost in the 10th. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Sent to Triple-A
Roupp was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

Advice: Roupp was hit hard for three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings Sunday against the Dodgers, and his performance has resulted in a demotion. The club has yet to make a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:37 pm

    • Yields five runs in bulk role
Wilson did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After pitching to a 5.19 ERA across 26 innings in June, Wilson continued his run of poor performance in Coors Field. The Milwaukee right-hander allowed five or more runs for the third time in his last five appearances. He now sports a 4.27 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 62:28 K:BB over 78 innings this season. Things aren't going to get easier for Wilson, as he's currently scheduled to make his next outing versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles. It is currently unknown whether he will follow an opener again. • Surrenders four runs
Gomber did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 win over Milwaukee, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Colorado southpaw faced only 10 batters over three scoreless innings to open this outing before falling apart in a five-hit, three-run fourth. Gomber has now allowed four or more runs in five consecutive starts, churning out an unpleasant 8.65 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 26 innings. Overall, the 30-year-old sports a 4.72 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 59:24 K:BB in 87.2 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Royals at home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm
