The Rockies designated Trejo for assignment Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Advice: Trejo had seen semi-regular playing time in June while Brendan Rodgers was injured, but he went just 6-for-29 (.207) with four runs and an RBI since the start of the month. Trejo will hand over his spot on the 40-man and 26-man roster to Aaron Schunk, who'll provide some infield depth for the Rockies. Rotowire.com8 minutes ago
Advice: Trejo lost his 40-man spot over the winter, only to make the Rockies as non-roster player this spring. Alas, he hit just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances in his utility role. Trejo is a fine defender, but since he has so little to offer offensively, he’ll probably clear waivers again. Rotoworld8 minutes ago
Gordon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Philadelphia.
Advice: Gordon will get a breather Friday after making six straight starts, collecting a hit in each contest. Bryan De La Cruz will play left field and lead off against the Phillies. Rotowire.com17 minutes ago
Jose Iglesias is out of the Mets lineup in favor of Jeff McNeil for a fifth straight game Friday.
Advice: McNeil had a sac fly in five plate appearances during last night’s 12-2 rout, buying him at least another week of starts. Iglesias is hitting .400/.447/.457 in 38 plate appearances, the last of which came six days ago. He probably will get a start Saturday with the Mets due to face a lefty. Rotoworld27 minutes ago
Schneider is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.
Advice: Spencer Horwitz will handle second base and Addison Barger will be in left field for the Blue Jays. Schneider is hitting just .171/.229/.316 in June. Rotowire.com31 minutes ago
Palacios is out of the lineup Friday against the Nationals, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Advice: The lefty-hitting Palacios will begin from the dugout as southpaw Mitchell Parker takes the mound for Washington. The 27-year-old outfielder started every game of Tampa Bay's most recent series against Seattle, going 4-for-12 with four runs and two RBI. Randy Arozarena will move to left field and bat second in place of Palacios. Rotowire.com34 minutes ago
Lowe (toe) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.
Advice: Lowe hasn't played since suffering a fractured right pinky toe on June 22. The Rays are facing a lefty in Mitchell Parker on Friday, so Lowe might not have been in the lineup, anyway. If he remains out Saturday against righty Jake Irvin, a stint on the injured list surely will have to be considered. Jose Caballero is at second base Friday. Rotowire.com39 minutes ago
Brandon Lowe (toe) isn’t starting for Friday’s game against the Nationals.
Advice: Lowe hasn’t played since June 22nd after breaking his pinkie toe. He also battled an illness earlier this week. Tampa Bay is also facing a left-hander starter in Mitchell Parker. The Rays haven’t put Lowe on the IL yet so hopefully he can return to the lineup soon. Jose Caballero will get the start at second base and bat seventh on Friday. Rotoworld42 minutes ago
Valdez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against San Diego, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Advice: Despite the Red Sox facing a right-hander in Randy Vasquez, Valdez will take a seat, yielding to David Hamilton at second base while Ceddanne Rafaela fills in at short stop. Valdez is slashing .212/.267/.404 with six home runs in 162 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.comToday, 11:38 am
