      Yandy Diaz hit a two-run homer and doubled in an extra-inning loss to the Rays on Thursday.

      Advice: Diaz absolutely clobbered a two-run homer that went an estimated 439 feet to extend the Rays’ lead to 6-2 in the ninth. It turns out the Rays would need those runs, as Minnesota scored four to tie it in the bottom half of the frame.       Royce Lewis homered and walked twice against the Twins on Thursday.

      Advice: Of course he homered. That’s already the ninth homer of the season for Lewis; a solid number for a first half of season, but even more impressive when you remember he’s only played 15 games. The 2017 first-overall pick has been remarkable when healthy enough to play, and his 2024 slash is a scorching .385/.459/.942.       Pfaadt (3-6) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks over 6.1 innings as the Diamondbacks fell 3-1 to the Nationals. He failed to strike out a batter.

      Advice: To say the 25-year-old right-hander wasn't fooling anyone Wednesday would be an understatement. Pfaadt not only came up empty in strikeouts while issuing a season high in walks, he didn't generate a single swinging strike among his 77 pitches. He was still able to produce enough weak contact to deliver his second straight quality start and eighth of the season, however. Pfaadt will take a 4.37 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 84:22 K:BB through 90.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am

      Henderson went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Yankees.

      Advice: Henderson has gone 16-for-51 (.314) with three home runs and three steals during his 12-game hitting streak. While he's struck out 16 times over that span, he's still making enough contact to be a huge positive atop the Orioles' lineup. For the season, the star shortstop is at a .273/.371/.582 slash line with a career-best 11 steals as well as 22 homers, 49 RBI and 59 runs scored over 72 contests.
