    • Receiving Sunday off
De La Cruz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: De La Cruz started the previous 31 games but will take a breather Sunday after he posted a .222/.258/.421 slash line during that span. Nick Gordon will receive a start in left field while batting seventh in the series finale versus Chicago. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

    • Bryan De La Cruz not in starting lineup Sunday
Bryan De La Cruz is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: De La Cruz gets a break after going 1-for-8 over the first two games of the series against Chicago. He’ll take a break with Nick Gordon playing left field in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 8:03 am

    • Brandon Pfaadt (ankle) expected to make next start
Brandon Pfaadt (ankle) is expected to make his next scheduled start.

Advice: That according to Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo. Pfaadt left Saturday’s start against the Padres after being hit in the left ankle by a 98 mph comebacker. Lovullo did caution that the team needs to see how Pfaadt responds to the injury, however. Don’t be surprised if the Diamondbacks end up taking precautions so close to the All-Star break, but it does appear he’s avoided a serious injury. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 am
    • Expecting to make next start
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said after Saturday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Padres that Pfaadt (ankle) expects to make his next start, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Pfaadt was pulled midway through the fifth inning Saturday after he was struck in the left ankle by a 98-mile-per-hour comebacker. Fortunately for Pfaadt, X-rays returned negative and he was diagnosed with little more than a bruise, but the Diamondbacks want to check back in with the right-hander Sunday to make sure that his condition hasn't taken a turn for the worse. Pfaadt tentatively lines up to make his next turn through the Arizona rotation Thursday versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 6:56 am
    • Carries offense in loss
Diaz went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and a three-run home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: His seventh-inning shot off Jacob Latz gave the Rays a brief lead, but the bullpen immediately squandered it in the bottom of the frame. Four of Diaz's eight homers on the season have come in his last 14 games, a stretch in which he's slashing .311/.344/.574 with four doubles and 12 RBI -- although curiously, the only runs he's scored during that time have come on his own home runs, despite the fact that he's consistently batting leadoff for Tampa Bay. • Homers in win over Giants
Kwan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Kwan has gone deep in two of his last three games, and he's hit five homers over his last 17 contests while batting .294 (20-for-68) in that span. While he's cooled off from flirting with a .400 batting average in mid-to-late June, he continues to impress with his consistency at the plate. The outfielder has a .365/.421/.542 slash line for the year to go along with nine homers, 27 RBI, 52 runs scored and four stolen bases over 61 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:54 pm

    • Diagnosed with bruised ankle
Pfaadt was removed in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left ankle contusion. He struck out six over 4.1 innings and gave up one earned run on seven hits and zero walks before exiting.

Advice: Pfaadt was pulled immediately after he was hit on the ankle by a 98-mile-per-hour comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez. The Diamondbacks have labeled the injury as a bruise after X-rays on Pfaadt's ankle returned negative, but the right-hander will continue to be evaluated in the coming days. He's tentatively scheduled to make one more start before the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 pm
    • Brandon Pfaadt exits after being hit by comebacker
Brandon Pfaadt was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Padres in the fifth inning after taking a 98-mph comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez off of his left foot/ankle.

Advice: He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. Prior to exiting, Pfaadt had allowed just one run on seven hits while punching out six opposing batters over his 4 1/3 innings of work. He also had a 2-1 advantage and lost his shot at a victory with his early removal. The Diamondbacks should have an update on his status before the night is through. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:20 pm
    • Hit by comebacker, leaves game
Pfaadt was removed from Saturday's game against the Padres after being struck in the foot by a comebacker in the fifth inning, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Luis Arraez hit a 98-mph comebacker at Pfaadt that ended up hitting the 25-year-old pitcher in the left foot/ankle area. Pfaadt allowed one run on seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings prior to exiting. The Diamondbacks will likely send Pfaadt in for imaging. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm
