    • Joe hits seventh home run Friday
Connor Joe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Joe’s seventh of the year. He’s up to .270 with a .792 OPS on the season. While he’s seen regular playing time this year, he’s certainly proven to be better against left-handed pitching once again. Joe has a .288/.356/.500 line in 90 plate appearances against southpaws this season. Rotoworld Today, 6:20 pm

    • Leaves game with injury
O'Neill was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent knee injury, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill had been visibly bothered by his right knee for about an inning before eventually coming out of the game during the third frame. The 28-year-old outfielder recently spent time on the injured list due to inflammation in the same knee, so the Red Sox will surely take a close look at him and should provide an update on his status in the near future. • Returns to action
O'Neill started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: This was O'Neill's second game back after being reinstated from the injured list Wednesday. He played nine innings in right field Wednesday. The veteran outfielder hit safely in both games, going 4-for-7 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored. Given the blowout nature of Thursday's contest, Red Sox manager Alex Cora opted to pull O'Neill after six innings. Rotowire.com Today, 5:30 am

    • Exits starting nine
Joe is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Dodgers.

Advice: It's the first time since May 13 that Joe has been absent from the Pirates' starting nine. Rowdy Tellez will occupy first base and Edward Olivares will patrol right field while Joe gets some rest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:34 am

    • George Springer is back to 5th in Blue Jays lineup
George Springer is moving back up the Blue Jays lineup, starting in right field and batting 5th against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Springer started the season as the lead-off hitter and was moved down as far as eighth in the order as he struggled to start the year. The veteran is now 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 12 games with two home runs, five RBI, and ten runs scored. There were no major red flags in his profile at the start of the season, so it seems likely that Springer can work his way back up to the top of the lineup. At 34 years old, he may be in the downward stage of his career, but he should retain enough value to be rostered in all formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 am

    • Nick Castellanos homers, Phillies sweep Brewers
Nick Castellanos swatted a two-run homer on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-0 victory over the Brewers.

Advice: Castellanos connected for a 402-foot blast off Brewers southpaw Aaron Ashby in the fifth inning for his eighth big fly of the season. It wound up being the lone tally for either side in a rare low-scoring showdown at Citizens Bank Park and was more than enough run support for Aaron Nola and the Phillies’ bullpen in this one. The 32-year-old corner outfielder has homered twice in this last seven contests since May 29. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:53 pm
    • Provides only offense in win
Castellanos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Brewers.

Advice: The veteran outfielder provided the game's only offense by taking Aaron Ashby deep in the fifth inning. Castellanos is beginning to climb out of his early season hole, batting .270 (17-for-63) over his last 16 games with four of his eight homers on the season, along with 11 runs and 11 RBI. • Belts fifth homer
Springer went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: He supplied the Blue Jays' only offense in a 10-1 rout by taking Corbin Burnes deep in the seventh inning. Springer appears to be turning things around after his rough start to the season -- he's hit safely in seven of the last eight games, batting .385 (10-for-26) with two of his five homers on the year and an impressive 7:1 BB:K. • Red Sox activate Tyler O’Neill, start him in RF
Red Sox activated OF Tyler O’Neill from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: O’Neill, who missed 10 games with a knee injury, is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Braves today. Red Sox manager Alex Cora also said he’d do a fair amount of DHing, with Rob Refsnyder playing right, in the short term. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:41 am
