    • Tyler O’Neill exits Friday with knee discomfort
Tyler O’Neill was removed from Friday’s game against the White Sox due to right knee discomfort.

Advice: O’Neill walked off the field with Boston’s training staff in the third inning of Friday’s contest at Guaranteed Rate Field after experiencing right knee discomfort earlier in the game while catching a routine fly out. The 28-year-old slugger returned earlier this week from the injured list following a nine-game absence due to right knee inflammation. He told reporters afterwards that he’s hopeful this latest incident won’t require another trip to the injured list, but it’s a concerning development that he’s still having knee issues. There should be a decision on his status prior to Saturday’s showdown in Chicago. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Mason Miller nets first career victory on Friday
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to pick up his first win of the season.

Advice: Miller’s fastball velocity was down slightly in this one as he failed to touch triple-digits on three fastballs, but was still averaging a sizzling 99.4 mph in this one. He needed just 12 pitches to strike out a pair of batters in a flawless ninth inning before JJ Bleday delivered a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame to give him his first win of the year. The hard-thrwoing 25-year-old former top prospect has blossomed into arguably the best reliever in baseball this season with 12 saves to go along with a stellar 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54/11 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (22 appearances). • Breaks slump Friday
Kim went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, one walk and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim went 0-for-10 with two walks over the previous three games before breaking out of the slump Friday. The homer was his eighth of the year but just his second over the last 18 contests. The shortstop has added a .223/.332/.393 slash line with 29 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 stolen bases through 66 games. While his ratios are a bit adrift of his last two seasons, Kim continues to hold down a starting role with solid production in the counting stats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm

    • Secures first career win
Miller (1-0) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win Friday over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The win was Miller's first in the majors, which came in his 32nd career appearance. He kept the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning before JJ Bleday swatted a walk-off solo home run in the Athletics' half of the frame. While Miller's been scored on in three of his last six outings, he's still sporting a 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54:11 K:BB through 28.2 innings this season. He's also gone 12-for-13 in save chances for a team that hasn't had a ton of leads to protect. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:34 pm

    • Abrams steals ninth base, scores run in win Friday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Abrams’ steal was his ninth of the season. After racking up 47 steals last year, fantasy managers sure would like to see him run more this year. The double was also nice to see as Abrams continues to hit better and for more power than most people expected when he was a prospect. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Alexis Díaz gives up run, earns 13th save
Alexis Díaz recorded his 13th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Cubs.

Advice: After getting two well-hit lineouts to start the ninth, Díaz walked a batter and allowed an RBI double. He then struck out Patrick Wisdom to end the game with a 3-2 score. Díaz has made 26 appearances this season and turned in a perfect inning three times. Still, as shaky as he’s been, he’s 13-for-15 saving games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:43 pm

    • Joe hits seventh home run Friday
Connor Joe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Joe’s seventh of the year. He’s up to .270 with a .792 OPS on the season. While he’s seen regular playing time this year, he’s certainly proven to be better against left-handed pitching once again. Joe has a .288/.356/.500 line in 90 plate appearances against southpaws this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:20 pm

    • Leaves game with injury
O'Neill was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent knee injury, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill had been visibly bothered by his right knee for about an inning before eventually coming out of the game during the third frame. The 28-year-old outfielder recently spent time on the injured list due to inflammation in the same knee, so the Red Sox will surely take a close look at him and should provide an update on his status in the near future. • Slated for bullpen next homestand
DeGrom (elbow) is slated to throw his first bullpen session since last June's Tommy John surgery during the Rangers' June 17-23 homestand, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: DeGrom resumed flat-ground throwing Wednesday following a scheduled de-loading period as he continues his rehab from a second Tommy John operation. The right-hander has hit all the necessary markers in his recovery so far but has many more to go. If everything goes according to plan, deGrom looks to be tracking toward a season debut sometime in August, although that's very tentative at this point. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:04 pm
