    • Anthony Santander homers twice, knocks in five
Anthony Santander went 3-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in leading the Orioles to a 9-1 trouncing of the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: It’s shaping up a quite the walk year for Santander, who just made his first All-Star team. He’s up to 26 homers, which is seven off his career high from 2022. His .826 OPS is 60 points better than his career mark and would be his career high, unless someone wants to count his .890 OPS from 37 games in 2020. Rotoworld Today, 10:46 pm
    • Goes deep twice
Santander went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's win over Texas.

Advice: Santander belted a two-run shot in the fifth inning and capped off his day with a three-run blast in the seventh. He ended the first half with two home runs over his last 13 games and Friday was his first multi-homer effort since June 15. Santander is slashing .242/.305/.521 with 26 long balls and 63 RBI through 92 games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:41 pm
    • Coughs up five runs in loss
Bassitt (8-8) took the loss Friday against the Tigers, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: With this outing, the Toronto right-hander continued his run of poor performance that saw him yield seven runs across 10 innings in his last two outings before the All-Star break. Bassitt allowed multiple homers for the first time since April 26 against the Dodgers, as Mark Canha and Wenceel Perez each hit two-run shots. The veteran pitcher's ERA now stands at 3.71 over 114 innings this season. Bassitt currently lines up to make his next start against the Rays at home. Rotowire.com Today, 8:28 pm
    • David Fry on base four times in win
David Fry went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and an RBI, and a walk on Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Fry carried his solid All-Star game performance into the second half. He limped into the break going hitless over his last 17 at-bats before finally getting on the board on Tuesday in Texas. He’s come back to earth after a torrid April and May as his average has dropped from .351 to .290 since June 1st. Rotoworld Today, 7:30 pm

    • Chris Bassitt gives up five runs in loss on Friday
Chris Bassitt struggled to keep the ball in the yard in Friday night’s loss to the Tigers, surrendering five runs on seven hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Bassitt racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing only one free pass. The Tigers got to him for three runs in the fourth inning as Riley Greene smacked an RBI single and Mark Canha followed with a two-run blast. Wenceel Perez then tagged him for a two-run shot to chase him in the seventh inning. Bassitt got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 32 percent. He’ll look to improve upon his 3.71 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 106/46 K/BB ratio (114 innings) when he does battle against the Rays on Thursday. Rotoworld Today, 6:48 pm
    • J.T. Realmuto (knee) could return this weekend
Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson told reporters on Friday that J.T. Realmuto (knee) is very close to a return and could rejoin the team’s starting lineup before the weekend is through.

Advice: The hard-hitting 33-year-old backstop wasn’t activated for Friday’s second half opener, but it sounds like he’ll be ready to go in the coming days. Expect the Phillies’ lineup to get some additional reinforcements before their series against the Pirates to open the second half is through. Rotoworld Today, 1:53 pm
    • Could return this weekend
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Friday that Realmuto (knee) is "very close" and could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Thomson had said just before the All-Star break that it was unlikely Realmuto would return this weekend for a series against the Pirates, but evidently the catcher is progressing more quickly than expected. Realmuto had right meniscus surgery in mid-June, and he's been upping his workouts lately without issue. It would appear he will not need a rehab assignment before being activated. • Hunter Greene won’t start in series against Nationals.
The Reds will start Frankie Montas, Nick Lodolo, and Andrew Abbott in this weekend’s series against the Nationals.

Advice: Hunter Greene had been on track to start on Friday based on his turn in the rotation prior to the All-Star break, but he will now be bumped back to next week’s series against the Braves. Obviously, Greene losing a start against the Nationals and gaining one against the Braves is not ideal for his fantasy managers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:55 am

    • Emmanuel Clase collects save in All-Star Game
Emmanuel Clase fired a scoreless ninth inning to collect the save during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Clase was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame of the Midsummer Classic and needed just 13 pitches (11 strikes) to preserve the victory. The hard-throwing 26-year-old right-hander made quite a statement in his third straight All-Star Game appearance, striking out Pete Alonso to open the frame before retiring Elly De La Cruz on a ground out to second base. Padres rookie Jackson Merrill managed to get on-base with an infield single before he struck out Bryan Reynolds to slam the door. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:54 pm
