    • Notches sixth win
Gausman (6-6) picked up the win Tuesday in a 9-4 victory over the Red Sox, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: A Vladimir Guerrero error meant that Gausman squeaked out his seventh quality start of the season, but the rest of the damage off the right-hander came on a Rafael Devers solo shot in the second inning and a two-run blast over the Green Monster by Tyler O'Neill in the sixth. Gausman has been taken deep eight times over his last five outings, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 4.45 ERA despite a 1.11 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB through 32.1 innings. He could have trouble keeping the ball in the park once again in his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:51 am

    • Experiences thumb soreness in debut
Scherzer said Monday that he was removed after five innings in his season debut in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Royals due to thumb soreness, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Rangers are monitoring the situation and have no plans yet to move his next start, which is scheduled for Friday in Baltimore. Scherzer was scheduled for a light bullpen session Tuesday, and if all went well, he should get the green light to take the hill Friday with few restrictions, if any. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:42 am
    • Gausman has quality start against Red Sox
Kevin Gausman allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits in six innings in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Gausman struck out five and walked one on the day but did allow two home runs, which accounted for all but one of the runs scored against him. The 33-year-old’s fastball averaged 94 mph on the day, which is up from his season average and he got seven whiffs on 24 swings on that pitch. However, he was only able to get 10 whiffs overall on the day for a 20 percent whiff rate and 25 percent CSW. He had just a 38 percent zone rate on the splitter, and he’s been struggling to get whiffs on that pitch over the last few starts. That’s a bit of a concern because the fastball isn’t good enough to carry him if the splitter whiffs don’t come back. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:00 pm

    • Daulton Varsho remains out Tuesday with back issue
Daulton Varsho (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Varsho has been held out of Toronto’s lineup for three consecutive games due to back tightness, but appears to be available off the bench for now. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but the Blue Jays clearly don’t want to push it and potentially make things worse. He’s day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:29 pm

    • On bench again
Varsho (back) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Varsho will be out of the starting nine for the third straight game after tweaking his back Saturday. Kevin Kiermaier will make another start in center field and bat ninth Tuesday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:25 pm

    • Getting day off
Arozarena is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Arozarena will get his first true day off of June on Tuesday, with Josh Lowe filling in at DH while Jonny DeLuca plays left field. Arozarena has generated a hit in nine of his last 10 games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:34 pm
    • Jo Adell goes 0-for-4, hitting .111 in June
Jo Adell finished 0-for-4 against the A’s on Monday, leaving him 7-for-63 with one homer in June.

Advice: Adell looked like maybe the AL’s most improved player over the first quarter of the season, but he’s all of the way down to .181/.242/.386 now. At least his defensive gains have remained intact. The Angels ought to keep playing him regularly, probably for the rest of the season, but it’s certainly still up for debate whether he belongs in their plans for 2025 and beyond. • Launches 13th homer
Raleigh went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two walks in Monday's 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay.

Advice: Raleigh slugged his 13th home run of the season, his first since June 10. The 27-year-old has batted just .178 over the past two weeks, but he has added two home runs, three doubles, two stolen bases and 11 RBI during that span. Rotowire.com Jun 24, 8:01 pm
    • Cal Raleigh homers, steals base in loss to Rays
Cal Raleigh belted a solo homer and also stole a base on Monday in the Mariners’ loss to the Rays.

Advice: The aptly named “Big Dumper” isn’t exactly known for his stolen base prowess, but he’s flashes strong instincts on the bases throughout his career, and is now up to three thefts on the year. He connected for a fourth-inning solo shot off Rays starter Taj Bradley for his 13th long ball of the year. It was the first time he’s left the yard since June 10, snapping a 12-game homerless drought in the process. Rotoworld Jun 24, 7:42 pm
