    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. gets rare day off on Saturday
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is not in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the division-rival Nationals.

Advice: It’s a rare day off for Chisholm, who has made an appeares in 68 of 69 contests this season for Miami. The talented 26-year-old outfielder is batting .254/.319/.435 with 10 homers and 13 steals in 285 plate appearances. It’ll be Dane Myers patrolling center field on Saturday afternoon in his absence. • Day off versus left-hander
Chisholm is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Nationals.

Advice: It's a rare day off for the lefty-hitting Chisholm as the Nationals send southpaw DJ Herz to the bump. Dane Myers is getting the start in center field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 am
    • Bo Bichette out Saturday with right calf soreness
Bo Bichette is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Guardians due to right calf soreness.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters they’ll see how Bichette is feeling this weekend before deciding on a course of action. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but it’s a developing situation fantasy managers should keep a close eye on. He’s been playing through the lingering issue of late and is presumably day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 am

    • Dealing with calf issue
Bichette is absent from Saturday's lineup against the Guardians as a result of right calf soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Bichette has been playing through the calf issue for a few games, so the team decided to give him a day off Saturday. Manager John Schneider said the team will keep an eye on how the shortstop is feeling ahead of Sunday's series finale with Cleveland before making a decision on when he'll be back in the lineup. • Sitting Saturday
Schneider is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Guardians, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Schneider will take a seat after he went 3-for-8 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored over the team's last two contests. Daulton Varsho will slot in at left field while Kevin Kiermaier (knee) returns to the lineup in center field and bats ninth against Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 am

    • Could rejoin rotation next week
The Yankees are expected to decide this weekend whether Cole (elbow) will need another rehab start or if he's ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Cole was dominant in his third rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, pitching 4.1 innings during which he allowed an unearned run on two hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters. The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner tossed 70 pitches in the outing, so he'd likely have his workload managed to some extent if his next trip to the mound is with the big club. If it's determined that Cole needs another rehab start, it would be for ramp-up reasons rather than due to effectiveness -- he's dominated minor leaguers in his three appearances, posting a 19:0 K:BB while allowing just one earned run over 12.1 frames. Should Cole next move back into the Yankees' rotation, his season debut could come during the team's three-game set versus Baltimore next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:23 am

    • Laces triple in loss
Rooker went 1-for-5 with an RBI triple in an extra-inning loss to the Twins on Friday.

Advice: Rooker's seventh-inning three-bagger plated JJ Bleday to snap a 4-4 tie, giving the Athletics a temporary reprieve after they'd blown an early 4-0 lead. The triple was Rooker's second of the season -- a new career high -- and marked his first extra-base hit since June 4. The veteran outfielder has now hit safely in five of his last seven games, but he's also carrying a .172 average and 43.3 percent strikeout rate across the 30 plate appearances he's logged in that span. • Hits fifth in return
Jones went 0-for-2 with two walks Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Jones was activated from the injured list Friday after missing roughly six weeks due to back and knee injuries. He hit fifth in the order, which was a common spot in the lineup for him before he was sidelined. Jones will now seek to get his season on track, as he has just a .167/.252/.271 line with one home run and two stolen bases across 107 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:08 am
