      Maikel Garcia is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s matchup against the Mariners.

      Advice: The 24-year-old infielder has been scuffling a bit at the plate as of late, so perhaps a day off to clear his head will do him some good. On the season, he’s slashing .239/.288/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases through his first 43 games.       Advice: Garcia plated an insurance run with his eighth-inning single, and he swiped second shortly after the hit. The third baseman has two steals over the last three games and 10 thefts on the year. He's hit better in May, going 14-for-55 (.254) over 13 contests to lift his season slash line to .239/.288/.369 with four home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored over 192 plate appearances.       Advice: Garcia has hit safely in eight of 11 games in May, going 12-for-47 (.255) with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored. His steal Sunday was his first of the month and his ninth of the season, and he's yet to be caught stealing. The third baseman is slashing .238/.290/.375 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 20 runs scored over 184 plate appearances.       Advice: The 24-year-old singled in the top of the third inning before coming around to score on a Vinnie Pasquantino home run. Garcia later added two doubles to give him his first three-hit performance of the season. The third baseman has now hit safely in four consecutive games and in six of eight to open the month of May, tallying four RBI and four runs scored over that latter stretch.       Maikel Garcia finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI against the Angels on Thursday.

      Advice: Garcia was due for some luck, and he got it tonight, as both of his doubles came on balls hit less than 80 mph. His highest EV in the contest, a 104-mph grounder, actually produced an out. The Royals have remained very patient with Garcia in the leadoff spot, and odds are that he’ll only get better from here.       Maikel Garcia went 1-for-2 with a two-run RBI single to help lift the Royals to a 3-2 win versus the Brewers on Monday.

      Advice: It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done. Garcia got great contact on a sinker off Elvis Peguero in the sixth inning that got in between shortstop and second base. According to Statcast, the hit probability was just 41%, but with an exit velocity of 106.5 MPH, Garcia definitely earned the hit.
