    • Eyeing return next week
Manager Carlos Mendoza said Monday that Alvarez (thumb) won't join the Mets for their two-game series in London with the Phillies this weekend, but the catcher could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list June 11 for the start of the club's homestand, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 20 with a fractured left thumb that eventually required surgery, Alvarez is closing in on a return after he initiated a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton this past weekend. He made three starts at catcher with Binghamton and went 2-for-8 with a home run and two walks, but the Mets want him to pick up more reps in the minors before he comes off the IL. Alvarez is likely to either stick around at Binghamton or shift his assignment to Triple-A Syracuse in the coming days, and if he escapes without any setbacks, he should settle back in as the Mets' primary backstop beginning next week. • Francisco Alvarez (thumb) won’t return this week
The Mets have decided against activating Francisco Alvarez in time for this weekend’s series in London.

Advice: Alvarez has thus far played in three rehab games as he returns from a torn thumb ligament, going 2-for-8 with a homer. The Mets believe it makes more sense for him to stay in the U.S. and continue his rehab than to go to London for two games in five days. If all goes well, Alvarez could be activated next Tuesday. • Heading to bench Sunday
Fry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Fry will head to the bench after a stretch of six consecutive starts during which he slashed .333/.462/.667 with three extra-base hits, one stolen base, eight RBI and five runs. Five of his last six starts came in left field, but with Steven Kwan back from the injured list, Fry could end up seeing most of his opportunities at designated hitter moving forward. Kyle Manzardo represents Fry's primary competition for playing time at DH, but both will be on the bench Sunday while Jose Ramirez gets a day off from third base and but sticks in the starting nine in a non-defensive role. • Getting rest Sunday
Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: Langeliers looks to be receiving some routine maintenance Sunday after he caught all nine innings of Saturday's 11-9 win while going 1-for-5 with a run scored. Kyle McCann will get the nod behind the plate in the series finale. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:10 am

    • Resting Saturday
Campusano isn't in the Padres' lineup Saturday versus Kansas City.

Advice: Campusano is still ice cold at the plate and is now 0-for-19 across his last seven games. He'll give way to Kyle Higashioka on Saturday and may continue to lose playing time if his offensive struggles continue. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:04 pm
    • Homers again in win
Fry went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The homer was Fry's fourth in his last eight games. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a memorable May, going 23-for-60 (.383) with seven homers and 18 RBI over 21 contests for the month. He's slashing .352/.485/.629 with eight homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases over 40 games this season. Fry offers a right-handed option at multiple positions, though he's unlikely to be needed in left field as much with Steven Kwan back from a hamstring injury. Fry's bat has been hot enough to force a few tough decisions into manager Stephen Vogt's lineup choices moving forward. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:16 pm

    • David Fry stays hot, homers again
David Fry went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a walk in a win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: What else is there to say about Fry? This long ball was his third in six games and it’s getting more and more difficult to deny his blazing hot start. He’s slashing a remarkable .365/.485/.629 with the plate discipline and batted ball metrics to match his production. Rotoworld Friday, 6:37 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Langeliers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Langeliers will get a breather Friday after going 2-for-12 with a two-run home run during Oakland's three-game series with the Rays. Instead, Kyle McCann will bat sixth and fill in behind the dish. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:37 pm

    • Lifts 12th homer Thursday
Langeliers went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run in an extra-innings loss to the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Langeliers' 406-foot shot to left-center field in the third inning erased a 3-2 deficit as he left the yard for the second time in the last four games. The 26-year-old backstop's propensity for hard contact continues to serve fantasy managers well and make up for some of his other offensive deficiencies, and Langeliers carries a .768 OPS thanks to his 22 extra-base hits (eight doubles, two triples, 12 home runs).
