    • Fans seven in win
Keller (4-3) allowed eight hits over six shutout frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over Milwaukee.

Advice: Keller faced traffic on the bases throughout the night but was able to dance around danger and keep the Brewers scoreless. He forced 13 whiffs -- his second-best total so far this season -- and threw 71 of 100 pitches for strikes. Of those 13, seven came via the fastball, which averaged 95.2 mph. Keller has seemingly turned a corner after a shaky opening month; he's allowed just one run while posting a 12:1 K:BB over 15 frames in his last two starts. Keller will carry a 3.93 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:09 pm

    • Keller picks up fourth win Monday
Mitch Keller tossed six shutout innings, recorded seven strikeouts and picked up the win in the Pirates’ 8-6 victory over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The win was Keller’s fourth of the season. He allowed eight hits, but walked none in the outing. Keller lowered his ERA to 3.93 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cubs in Chicago this weekend.

    • Throws Monday, but far off return
Bradford (ribs) played catch Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: According to MLB.com, manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that Bradford could be cleared to begin throwing off a mound at some point later on this week during the Rangers' six-game homestand. Bradford was originally placed on the 15-day injured list April 14 with lower-back soreness, but follow-up tests revealed that the southpaw had a "very small" stress fracture on the 12th rib on the right side of his body. Bochy said that the Rangers are expecting Bradford to be sidelined for another month, which would put him in line for a return around the middle of June. Bradford went 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in three starts prior to landing on the IL, but the Rangers may not have a rotation spot available for him once he's healthy. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:06 pm

    • A’s place Paul Blackburn on IL with a foot injury
Athletics placed Paul Blackburn (foot) on 10-day IL retroactive to May 11th.

Advice: Blackburn has a stress reaction in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. The 30-year-old has a 4.11 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in eight starts while registering 36 strikeouts and 13 walks in 46 innings. There’s no set timeline yet for how long he’ll be out, but his right foot handles all his body weight during his leg lift on his windup, so he’ll need to make sure it’s fully healed before he returns to the mound. The team recalled LHP Easton Lucas from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Blackburn’s place on the active roster. Rotoworld Monday, 12:13 pm

    • Lands on IL with foot injury
The Athletics placed Blackburn on the 15-day injured list Monday with a stress reaction of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.

Advice: He'll be in a walking boot for at least two weeks, per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, so Blackburn is set tio require more than a minimum-length stay on the IL. Blackburn had been in line to start Thursday in Houston but will now need to be replaced in the rotation, with recent Triple-A Las Vegas call-up Joey Estes making sense as an alternative. • Produces quality start
Gallen (5-2) picked up the win Sunday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Gallen notched a second straight quality start, following up a one-hit gem against the Reds with Sunday's two-run showing against the O's. Three of the four hits against Gallen went for extra bases, as he allowed doubles to Anthony Santander and Jordan Westburg while Adley Rutschman slugged a solo homer in the sixth. Gallen owns a 2.86 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP across 44.0 innings in 2024. He's lined up for a home start against the Tigers next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:31 pm

    • Zac Gallen has solid start in win over Orioles
Zac Gallen allowed two runs on four hits in six innings in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Gallen struck out four and walked two on the day while posting a pedestrian 10 percent whiff rate and 19 percent CSW. It should be noted that Gallen’s fastball velocity was also up almost two mph on the year, averaging 94.2 mph. His sinker and slider were both also up over two mph, so the early season concerns about his health may be in the rearview mirror. However, the lack of swings and misses is a bit of a concern; although, the opponent was certainly a tough one. Gallen will take a 2.86 ERA into an easier start against the Tigers next week. • Improves to 5-0
Skubal (5-0) earned the win over Houston on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings.

Advice: Skubal continued his run of excellence, recording his fifth straight quality start and picking up his fifth win without a loss on the season. The left-hander has built upon last year's breakout campaign to emerge as one of MLB's top hurlers and Detroit's undeniable staff ace. Skubal ranks seventh among qualified starters with a 2.02 ERA and fourth with a 0.86 WHIP. He's tied for fourth with 60 punchouts over 49 innings. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:02 pm

    • Tarik Skubal fans seven in victory over Astros
Tarik Skubal delivered another strong performance in Saturday’s victory over the Astros, striking out seven batters over 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball.

Advice: The Tigers’ ace allowed seven hits and a pair of walks on the evening. The only damage done against him came in the fourth inning, on run-scoring singles by Alex Bregman and Yainer Diaz. Aside from that, Skubal was in complete control. The flame-throwing 27-year-old southpaw generated 15 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — six on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He has been as good as advertised this season, posting a 5-0 record, 2.02 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and a 60/8 K/BB ratio across 49 innings through his first eight starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he squares off against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:53 pm
