    • Launches first homer of 2024
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder connected on his first long ball of 2024 when he took Nick Pivetta deep in the first inning. Lowe is quickly making up for lost time after missing the first month-plus of the season due to an oblique strain, and in seven games since being activated from the IL he's batting .320 (8-for-25) with four doubles and a homer. • Josh Lowe has two hits, HR vs Red Sox
Josh Lowe went 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: In the first inning, Lowe took Pivetta deep 385 feet on a ball that left the bat at 107 mph. It was the 26-year-old’s first home run of the season, and he’s now slashing .320/.360/.600 in seven games since coming off the IL. The Rays continue to hit him in the middle of the lineup, and he should be in for another big season if he can stay healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm
    • Five-game hitting streak
Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a walk Monday against the Athletics.

Advice: Alvarez extended his hitting streak to five games with the performance, which was his fourth multi-hit performance in that span. He's also scored four runs and driven in another two during the sample. The strong stretch has also brought his batting average up to .264 across 180 plate appearances on the season, and that mark should continue to rise as the campaign progresses. • Lands on IL with fractured thumb
The Reds placed Friedl on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a fractured left thumb.

Advice: Friedl left Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Giants after being hit by a pitch in the top of the first inning. The injury was initially reported as a contusion, but further tests revealed fractures in his left thumb. Friedl started the season on the IL with a fractured right wrist, and he appeared in just six major-league games after being activated May 7. In Friedl's absence, Will Benson could return to the leadoff spot against righties. The Reds recalled outfielder Jacob Hurtubise from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. • Reds place Friedl on I.L. with thumb fracture
Reds placed OF TJ Friedl on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured left thumb.

Advice: The report yesterday was that X-rays were negative on Friedl’s thumb after he was hit by a pitch, but it seems that wasn’t the case. Friedl was injured in his sixth game since returning from a sprained wrist. The Reds figure to go back to Will Benson in center, but they might want to give the newly recalled Jacob Hurtubise a shot. • Returns to lineup Monday
Nimmo (intercostal) will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game versus the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Nimmo didn't start Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta due to right intercostal irritation, but he entered the contest off the bench and eventually clubbed a walk-off, two-run home run in his lone plate appearance. Four of Nimmo's six home runs this season have come over his last 12 games. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:55 am

    • Hits in four of five games
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: Lowe has appeared in five games since returning from an oblique and hamstring injury, and he's reached base in all four of his starts. He's hit either second or third in the Rays' lineup, though he did sit in the team's only game against a lefty since he was activated. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:45 am
    • Hits walk-off homer Sunday
Nimmo (intercostal) entered Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta in the bottom of the seventh inning and hit a walk-off two-run home run in his lone at-bat.

Advice: Nimmo was held out of the starting nine due to right intercostal irritation, but he felt well enough to come off the bench and replace DJ Stewart as a pinch runner in the seventh inning. He then manned left field for the final two innings and recorded a pair of outs in the field before slugging a home run off AJ Minter in the bottom of the ninth. Nimmo said during the ESPN broadcast that he expects to play Monday against the Phillies, but fantasy managers will still want to ensure he's included in the lineup prior to the 7:10 p.m. ET opening pitch before activating him. • Brandon Nimmo sinks Braves with walk-off blast
Brandon Nimmo played the role of hero on Sunday night in New York, crushing a walk-off two-run homer off of A.J. Minter to deliver a 4-3 victory over the Braves.

Advice: The Mets entered the final frame trailing 3-2, but things got interesting after Jeff McNeil started it off with a bunt single. He was then sacrificed to second base by Tomas Nido. McNeil got an unbelievable jump on a 2-1 offering to Nimmo and looked to have third base stolen, but Nimmo fouled the pitch off and showed clear frustration with himself over the situation. Not to worry though, as two pitches later he pulverized a cutter from Minter for a 396-foot (103.7 mph EV) walk-off blast. Not bad for his only at-bat in the contest. On the season, he’s now hitting .234/.379/.431 with six long balls and 27 RBI. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:18 pm
