    Vasquez (0-3) took the loss against Atlanta in the second game of a doubleheader Monday, allowing three runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out two batters over six innings.

    Advice: Vasquez yielded a season-high 10 hits, but he still managed his first quality start of the campaign. In fact, this was the first time through five starts that he's been able to complete more than five frames. The right-hander was by no means dominant with just two punchouts, but he managed to keep the Padres in the contest, though San Diego's offense was unable to provide any runs in support. Vasquez has posted a mediocre 5.82 ERA and 1.75 WHIP through 21.2 innings, and he could be moved out of the rotation -- and potentially off the big-league roster -- with Joe Musgrove (elbow) slated to return from the injured list Tuesday.   • Ends Game 2 of twin bill with save
    Iglesias notched a save in the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Padres, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

    Advice: Atlanta got seven dominant scoreless innings from Chris Sale before Pierce Johnson took over with a scoreless frame in the eighth. Iglesias then completed the shutout with a perfect 13-pitch ninth. The veteran closer hasn't posted his usual big strikeout numbers with just a 12:5 K:BB over 18.1 innings, but he's converted 11 of 13 save chances this season while registering a 2.45 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.     Lopez allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus San Diego in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader.

    Advice: Lopez exited his previous start against the Cubs early due to back tightness, but the issue didn't seem to bother him Monday. The right-hander tossed 83 pitches and left in line for the win before Atlanta's bullpen crumbled late in the contest. Lopez earned his fourth quality start of the campaign but actually saw his ERA rise from 1.34 to 1.54, highlighting how great he's been this season.     Hudson struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Monday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: Hudson is on a five-inning scoreless streak dating back to his May 8 save versus the Marlins. He's served as the Dodgers' top closing option since Evan Phillips (hamstring) went on the injured list earlier in May, though save chances have been sparse. Hudson has two saves since Phillips was hurt, and J.P. Feyereisen, who was reassigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City over the weekend, is the only other reliever to pick up a save in that span.     Suarez picked up a save against Atlanta in the first game of a doubleheader Monday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

    Advice: For most of the contest it seemed unlikely that Suarez would be deployed, as Atlanta got out to an early lead and was ahead 5-0 through four innings. However, San Diego fought back and took a one-run lead in the eighth, giving Suarez a chance to close things out in the ninth. He did so easily, needing just seven pitches to set down the side in order. Suarez had been used in the eighth inning to face the heart of Atlanta's order his previous time on the mound, but there's little doubt that he's San Diego's primary closer.   • Daniel Hudson works perfect ninth for save
    Daniel Hudson pitched a perfect ninth for his third save Monday against the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: Estevez's last two outings came in non-save situations after he blew a save May 10 versus the Royals. The closer is now 7-for-10 in save chances this season, though there are some warning signs reemerging after he struggled late in 2023. He's now at a 5.17 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 17:2 K:BB through 15.2 innings this season.     Advice: Estévez gave up two hits and a walk after the outstanding fortune of Jo Adell denying Yainer Diaz a possible homer or at least a double to begin the inning. Estévez is sporting a 5.17 ERA through 15 2/3 innings this season, and he’s lucky that neither Robert Stephenson (out for the season) or José Soriano (in the rotation) is currently an alternative in the closer’s role for the Angels.
