    • Gavin Stone surrenders three over seven vs. KC
      Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision Saturday against the Royals after allowing three runs over seven innings with three strikeouts.

      Advice: Stone allowed four hits and walked two while throwing 61-of-94 pitches in the strike zone. The 25-year-old allowed all three runs on a long roundtripper by Salvador Perez. Minus that gaffe, it was another solid start for Stone against a pretty tough Kansas City lineup. He’s currently scheduled to face the Rockies on Thursday in Colorado.     • Ranger Suárez allows just one run against Orioles
      Ranger Suárez scattered six hits across 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision on Friday against the Orioles. He struck out six, walked two, and allowed one earned run.

      Advice: Relative to the rest of his season, this was a difficult start for Suárez and he still allowed just one run against one of the best offenses in baseball. He kept the ball down, mixed all five of his pitches, and hit his spots when he needed to. Especially tough on lefties, he made Gunnar Henderson look as frustrated as he’s been all season with two nasty punch outs. Suárez’s Cy Young campaign will march on next week against the Padres.     • Strikes out 10
      Gore (6-5) earned the win Friday over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Gore was excellent Friday, holding Miami to a lone second-inning run en route to his fourth win in his last five starts. It's the third double-digit strikeout outing for Gore this year as he lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 91:23 K:BB through 14 starts (75 innings) this season. The left-hander is currently in line for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks in his next outing. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:42 pm
       
    • MacKenzie Gore strikes out 10 in seven innings
      MacKenzie Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win on Friday night. He allowed just one earned run and walked one batter. He earned the win.

      Advice: Gore was downright dazzling in this one. He challenged the Marlins again and again with his fastball high in the zone and they swung and missed at it 12 times in 35 tries. His heater is special sitting 96 MPH from the left side with tons of ride. He’s put an emphasis on throwing it up in the zone this season and that has helped him reach new heights. This was his third start so far with double-digit punch outs and he’s allowed more than three earned runs just once. His breakout is indisputable at this point. Rotoworld Friday, 6:13 pm
       
    • Blows save chance Thursday
      Kopech (2-6) blew a save but earned the win over the Mariners on Thursday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Kopech was summoned in the ninth inning to try to protect a one-run Chicago lead but served up a one-out, game-tying solo shot to Julio Rodriguez. To his credit, Kopech bounced back to retire the next two batters and send the game to extra frames, and he was credited with a win as a result of the White Sox pushing across a run in the 10th. Kopech hasn't been very effective in a closing role for Chicago -- he hasn't notched a save since May 15 and is just 5-for-9 in save opportunities this season. He has a 4.91 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 29.1 innings, though his 13.2 K/9 is characteristic of what most teams look for from a closer. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:08 am

      Munoz (back) picked up the loss Thursday as the Mariners fell to the White Sox, allowing an unearned run in the 10th inning.

      Advice: Munoz allowed a walk and a hit before a fielder's choice brought home the automatic runner. The good news was that Munoz didn't allow much in the way of hard contact and generated three swings and misses among his 17 pitches, 11 of which were strikes. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:42 am
       
    • Michael Kopech blows save, gets win
      Michael Kopech blew a save but picked up a win while allowing a run over an inning of work against the Mariners on Thursday.

      Advice: Kopech gets the win despite allowing a game-tying homer to Julio Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth. The win stat has zero flaws and anyone who suggests otherwise is providing falsehoods. Kopech continues to show the stuff to miss bats, but the command leaves way too much to be desired to completely trust. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:23 pm

      Castillo's next start has been pushed back a day to Friday against the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

      Advice: The Mariners have just one off day over the next two weeks and one member of their rotation, Bryan Woo (forearm), who is banged up, so the team will use this as an opportunity to give their regular starters some rest.       Advice: Kopech imploded to allow three earned runs and blow a lead in an appearance Monday, but he managed to bounce back in this outing. He entered the game with the score tied at 1-1 and turned in just his third scoreless effort in his last five appearances.
