• Swipes ninth bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Hitting leadoff against Washington lefty MacKenzie Gore, Lindor got right back up after seeing an 11-game hitting streak snapped Sunday. The veteran shortstop has swiped three bags over the last five contests, giving him nine steals on the season, and over his last 15 games, he's slashing .339/.397/.516 with five doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI as he puts a sluggish start to the season behind him. • Launches fifth homer
Gallo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Mets.

Advice: Gallo launched his fifth home run of the season, but he has seen his playing time decrease over the past week. The 30-year-old has started just four of the past seven contests following a streak of 10-consecutive starts. Gallo will need to clean up his dismal .156 average and 45 percent strikeout rate to garner consistent playing time moving forward. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:21 pm

  • Notches 10th save
Alvarado picked up the save in Monday's 3-1 win over Milwaukee, striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning. He did not allow a baserunner.

Advice: Alvarado picked up his 10th save of the season, his first since May 21. The southpaw blew his first save of the season May 24 in Coors Field, but he has otherwise pitched well since his last save, recording a 1.50 ERA with six strikeouts and two holds over six innings of work. • José Alvarado silences Brewers to net 10th save
José Alvarado fired a flawless ninth inning on Monday against the Brewers to collect his 10th save of the season.

Advice: Alvardo got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame after Jeff Hoffman worked a flawless eighth inning and needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to notch his first save since May 21. There isn’t a ton of clarity regarding the pecking order for Phillies manager Rob Thomson, but it appears Hoffman and Alvarado will continue splitting save opportunities depending on matchups. • Late addition to lineup
Contreras is starting behind the plate and batting second Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: The 26-year-old catcher was scheduled to receive his first day off of the season Sunday, but he apparently convinced manager Pat Murphy to continue the starting streak. Contreras has gone 6-for-25 with no extra-base hits over the past six games versus the Cubs and White Sox. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:26 am
  • First day off in 2024
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras started Milwaukee's first 58 games of the season (47 at catcher, 11 at designated hitter), but he'll receive a well-deserved day off Sunday versus Chicago. He's been an MVP candidate early in 2024 with eight homers, 44 RBI, 48 runs, four steals and a .322/.394/.498 slash line. Gary Sanchez is working behind the plate Sunday for the Brewers. • Getting break Sunday
Bader is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Arizona.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder will get a rest day and cede center-field duties to Tyrone Taylor as the Mets close out the series against the Diamondbacks. Bader has started seven of the last 10 games for New York, going 6-for-26 with four RBI and one home run in that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:34 am

  • Sitting down Saturday
Gallo isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Saturday's game agianst Cleveland.

Advice: Following an 0-for-3 performance in the first game of the series Friday, Gallo will take a seat Saturday despite the Guardians sending right-hander Ben Lively to the mound. Joey Meneses will take on first base duties instead and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:48 am

  • Wins with shaky outing
Severino (3-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Arizona.

Advice: Severino got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He gave up one more over the next four frames before Eugenio Suarez knocked him out of the game with a solo shot in the sixth inning. Severino still earned his first win since April 17 in the chaotic 10-9 contest. He ends May with a subpar 4.91 ERA and 23:16 K:BB through 29 frames. Severino will carry a 3.52 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in Washington. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:52 am
