      Advice: Stroman got off to a poor beginning Thursday, giving up three first-inning runs on homers by Yordan Alvarez and Jon Singleton. He rebounded to keep Houston off the scoreboard over the following three frames before being tagged for another run in the fifth. Stroman at least allowed New York to keep within striking range, but this was his second time giving up four runs over his past three starts.       Advice: Stroman coughed up a pair of first-inning homers and also served up a run-scoring single to Jeremy Peña in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring affair at Yankee Stadium. He struck out five and also issued a pair of walks.       Kirby (3-3) was hit with the loss against the Twins on Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Kirby didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, surrendering back-to-back home runs to Carlos Correa and Trevor Larnach in the first inning, along with a third long ball off the bat of Willi Castro in the following frame. The right-hander had not allowed more than one home run in a start coming in and had held opponents to one or fewer runs in each of his previous three outings.       George Kirby allowed four runs with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Twins on Wednesday.

      Advice: Kirby surrendered a pair of solo homers to Trevor Larnach and Carlos Correa in the first inning. Willi Castro got to Kirby in the second with a solo blast before driving in a fourth run with a triple in the fourth. Kirby tossed one more scoreless frame, ending his day after five at 70 pitches.       Advice: It's the first time Rodriguez has thrown off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with right shoulder inflammation.       Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace.       Rodriguez (shoulder) "feels much better" and hopes to be reinstated once he becomes eligible May 15, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reported Tuesday.

      Advice: Rodriguez has battled inflammation in his shoulder throughout May. However, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, his move to the 15-day IL was to prevent the issue from developing into anything more serious, and he could return to the O's without a rehab start.       Advice: Manager Bruce Bochy provided a positive update Monday with news that the right-hander isn't dealing with a sports hernia, and Eovaldi is back to playing catch a day later. Barring any sort of setback, the 34-year-old could be good to go without needing a rehab assignment once he clears the 15-day IL on May 18.       Advice: Steele limited San Diego’s offense to just three hits and one walk, notching a pair of strikeouts, in his return at Wrigley Field following a five-weeks absence due to a hamstring strain. The 28-year-old ace averaged nearly 92 mph on his four-seam fastball in this one and got his pitch count up to 68 (43 strikes) before being lifted in the fifth inning.
