    • Swats another homer
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run during Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 31-year-old tagged Jared Jones for a two-run home run in the sixth inning, Chapman's second straight game with a long ball. He's been red-hot in his last five games, going 11-for-18 (.611) with seven extra-base hits, 10 runs, five RBI and two stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm
    • Lifts homer in loss
Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Chapman has gone 16-for-43 (.372) with eight extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last 11 games. The third baseman's homer Tuesday gave the Giants a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning. He's up to six long balls, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases while slashing .243/.303/.411 over 48 contests. While his .714 OPS is notably down from last year, he seems to have turned a corner in May by batting .279 after hitting just .212 in April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 am
    • Matt Chapman has two hits, HR in loss
Matt Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Chapman had three of the four hardest-hit balls on the Giants during the game. He had a 113.1 mph groundout, a 106.4 mph double, and a 104.8 mph home run that traveled 414 feet. He also added another 103.2 mph groundout, so it’s safe to say he was seeing the ball pretty well on Tuesday. The veteran is now 19-for-68 (.279) with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and eight RBI during May. He continues to hit cleanup for the Giants every game and is an underrated fantasy option. • Manny Machado doubles twice to lead Padres
Manny Machado doubled twice and drove in two runs as the Padres edged the Braves 6-5 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader

Advice: The two-run hit came in a four-run eighth inning rally that proved decisive. The previous double was Machado’s first extra-base hit since May 4. He also had his first multi-RBI game since that date. We were hoping his numbers would get better as his shoulder got further removed from surgery, but his current .639 OPS is 100 points lower than his mark from a month ago. Rotoworld Monday, 1:38 pm
    • Four-hit game Saturday
Chapman went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Chapman doubled, singled twice and also stole his fifth base of the season. The veteran third baseman had three hits and a steal in Friday's contest, as well, so perhaps he's finally starting to turn the corner. Chapman had been demoted to as low as seventh in the Giants' batting order earlier this month, but he's hit cleanup for the last two games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:12 pm
    • Matt Chapman reaches five times against Rockies
Matt Chapman went 4-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, one walk, and a stolen base against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Chapman has broken out at the plate of the last two games. After collecting three hits on Friday, he was a perfect 4-for-4 against the Rockies on Saturday. He started with a double in the first and scored on a home run by Luis Matos. Chapman led off the third with a base hit and scored again on a double by Matos. He added a single and a stolen base in the fifth, then reached third on a double and an error in the seventh before scoring once more. The 31-year-old third baseman is now hitting .236/.292/.388 with five homers, 29 runs scored, 20 RBI, and five steals across 192 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:57 pm
    • Logs three hits, steal in win
Chapman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a hit-by-pitch, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Chapman has gone 9-for-32 (.281) over his last eight games as he finally seems to be finding a rhythm at the plate. He got the Giants on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and continued to be involved in the team's subsequent rallies. The third baseman is slashing .218/.273/.362 with five home runs, 10 doubles, 20 RBI, 25 runs scored and four steals through 187 plate appearances this season. While his rate stats are well below his usual standards, the recent improvements are a reason for optimism, especially as he continues to hit in the heart of the order for a lineup devastated by injuries. • Matt Chapman doubles twice, scores three runs
Matt Chapman doubled twice and scored three runs while driving in one in a win over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Chapman has gone through it for most of the 2024 season, but things have looked better — for the most part — the past week. The infielder is only hitting .218 over the first six weeks of the campaign, but this has been a streaky hitter for the majority of the campaign, and it’s certainly possible he’s entering a hot run right now. • Hitting fifth Friday
Machado will start at third base and bat fifth in Friday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: It's only the second time over the past nine seasons that Machado has batted lower than cleanup. The 31-year-old is in the middle of a 2-for-30 stretch at the plate to drop his season slash line to .222/.276/.346. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:10 pm
