    • Daulton Varsho (back) could come off bench Monday
Daulton Varsho, who missed Sunday’s game with back tightness, is likely to be available off the bench Monday.

Advice: Varsho worked out on the field today, but the Blue Jays decided to hold him out initially, at least. They have Davis Schneider in left and Kevin Kiermaier in center tonight. Rotoworld Monday, 2:23 pm

    • Drawing start at DH on Monday
Fry (elbow) will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Fry's status heading into the series opener in Baltimore was somewhat murky after he was forced out of Sunday's 6-5 win over Toronto with right elbow inflammation, but the 29-year-old is apparently feeling well enough to stick in the lineup Monday in a non-defensive role. Once the elbow issue fully subsides, expect Fry to mix in behind the plate and in the corner outfield along with at DH as the Guardians make a concerted effort to keep his productive bat in the lineup. • Remains out of lineup
Varsho (back) is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Boston.

Advice: Varsho tweaked his back on a swing in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians and has now been out of the lineup for two straight contests. He's available off the bench, per Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic, seemingly giving him a good chance to return to the lineup Tuesday. Kevin Kiermaier will handle center field Monday while Varsho takes a seat. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:27 pm

    • David Fry (elbow) considered day-to-day
David Fry is considered day-to-day after exiting Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays with inflammation in his right elbow.

Advice: It sounds like it’s just a minor issue and the 28-year-old slugger won’t require a trip to the injured list. While his pace has cooled over the last few weeks, Fry has still been a force in the middle of the Guardians’ lineup this season — slashing .312/.429/.526 with eight homers, 31 RBI and four stolen bases in only 189 plate appearances. • Bryan Reynolds goes 2-for-3, hits 12th homer
Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a homer that accounted for Pittsburgh’s only run and a walk Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: The homer left his bat at just 90 mph, but aided by some wind, it got over the wall at PNC Park. Reynolds’ hitting streak is now at 20 games, and it includes three homers in his last four games. Today’s performance pushed his OPS over .800 for the first time since mid-April. • Posts 20-game hitting streak
Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 20 games with an infield single in the first, then later tied the game with a fourth-inning blast that just cleared the wall in right. It was the 12th home run for Reynolds, who has collected five of those during this current hit streak that spans the entirety of the month of June. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:36 pm
    • Battling elbow inflammation
Fry was removed from Sunday's game against Toronto due to right elbow inflammation, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Fry delivered an RBI single during the first inning of Sunday's contest before being replaced behind the plate by Bo Naylor in the third. The Guardians are currently viewing Fry as day-to-day, though he will likely undergo further testing to determine the extent of his injury. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:16 pm

    • David Fry leaves game with elbow inflammation
David Fry was removed from Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays due to right elbow inflammation.

Advice: The positive news here is that Fry’s early exit isn’t related to a possible head injury or concussion. The bad news is that he’s probably going to be sent for some further evaluation and imaging to determine the extent of the issue. The 28-year-old backstop has been an unexpected revelation this season for fantasy managers, so the hope here is that his exit was merely for precautionary reasons. He’s presumably day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:09 pm

    • David Fry leaves game Sunday with possible injury
David Fry made an early exit from Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays with a potential injury.

Advice: MLB.com’s Henry Palattella adds that Fry was apparently struck in the head by a practice swing from Danny Jansen in the opening frame, so it’s highly likely he’s been lifted from the contest for precautinary reasons to undergo testing for a possible concussion. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:34 am
