    • Having imaging done on right knee
Winker will get an MRI on Saturday after sustaining a right knee injury during Saturday's game against the Marlins, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Winker awkwardly slid back into second after rounding the base on a Ildemaro Vargas hit and was removed from the game in the third inning. The outfielder will have an MRI done on his right knee later Saturday, which should provide some insight on the severity of the injury. Rotowire.com Today, 3:51 pm

    • Jesse Winker (knee) heading for MRI exam
Jesse Winker will undergo an MRI exam to determine the extent of his right knee injury.

Advice: Winker sustained the injury on Saturday when he was trying to get back to second base in the opening inning. If he’s forced to miss any substantial time, it could potentially open the door for the highly anticipated arrival of James Wood from Triple-A Rochester. Rotoworld Today, 3:40 pm

    • Not yet doing on-field activity
Trout (knee) has yet to progress to performing on-field activities, per MLB.com.

Advice: Trout has been out of action since being diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee near the end of April. Los Angeles has thus far kept him on the 10-day IL, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere near being activated -- or even beginning a minor-league rehab stint -- given his lack of baseball activity. Trout is expected to return to action at some point this season, but the Angels are unlikely to rush him back given their position in the standings, and his timeframe for rejoining the team remains very hazy. • Exits early versus Miami
Winker (undisclosed) exited Saturday's matchup with the Marlins in the bottom of the third inning, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Winker singled and later rounded second base on a base knock from Ildemaro Vargas in the bottom of the first inning before being tagged out after awkwardly sliding back into the bag. Luis Garcia replaced Winker at the plate in the third inning and more information on Winker's status will likely come following Saturday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Jesse Winker leaves game with apparent leg injury
Jesse Winker was removed from Saturday’s ballgame against the Marlins in the third inning with an apparent leg injury.

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder awkwardly rounded second base before pulling up and retreating during the first inning. He stayed in the game initially, but was ultimately lifted two innings later. Expect the Nationals to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Today, 1:48 pm

    • Aiming for return in late June
Contreras (forearm) is targeting a return in late June, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

Advice: Contreras has resumed taking batting practice and hopes to be cleared to begin a rehab assignment early next week. If that happens, a return sometime during the Cardinals' June 22-30 homestand is likely. It would be at least a couple weeks quicker than he was initially expected back following surgery in early May to repair a fractured forearm. Rotowire.com Today, 11:04 am

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) might require rehab assignment
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Saturday that Kyle Tucker (shin) might require a minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: Espada elaborated that Tucker might need some rehab games to get back up to speed if he doesn’t resume running at some point this weekend. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar has been out since early June recovering from a right shin contusion and has yet to resume baseball activities. There should be a clearer picture of his potential return timeline at some point in the coming days. It certainly doesn’t sound like he’s close at this juncture. Rotoworld Today, 10:45 am

    • More BP, then games
Contreras (forearm) came out of his Friday's batting practice session with no issues and will repeat the step for the next few days, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It was the first time Contreras had taken BP since he had surgery on his fractured left forearm in early May. The hope is that he will be ready for a rehab assignment after a few days of batting practice, but he will need to gain medical clearance first. Contreras is tracking toward an earlier-than-expected return, but there's no target date just yet. Rotowire.com Today, 9:45 am

    • Swipes two bags in win
Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases Friday in an 8-1 victory versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Volpe made the most of his fifth-inning single, as he proceeded to steal both second and third base before coming home on an Alex Verdugo double. The second-year shortstop is up to 15 thefts (on 18 attempts) this season, tied for 13th in the league. Volpe's power is down in comparison to his rookie campaign, but he's reduced his strikeout rate from 27.8 percent to 21.3 percent, which has helped produce a much-improved .271/.329/.414 slash line.
