      Advice: The veteran shortstop took Charlie Morton deep in the seventh innings to get the Mets on the board, but they were already facing a 4-0 deficit at that point. Lindor has had a good start to May, batting .276 (8-for-29) through eight games with 10 RBI, but on the season he still carries a disappointing .212/.282/.404 slash line with seven homers, four steals, 21 RBI and 22 runs in 37 contests.       Tim Anderson went 0-for-4 against the Dodgers on Tuesday, dropping his average to .203.

      Advice: It was worth seeing if Anderson might bounce back from his awful 2023, but he’s been even worse in 35 games this year. In 118 plate appearances, he has three extra-base hits, six walks and 37 strikeouts. His contact numbers are horrible, and he’s not making hard contact when he does hit the ball. He’s also not very good defensively at this stage of his career. Otto Lopez wouldn’t be more than a placeholder for the Marlins, but he has to be better than Anderson right now.       Ceddanne Rafaela went 2-for-4 with one RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Braves.

      Advice: Rafaela singled in the sixth with the bases loaded to score Vaughn Grissom, tying the game at 2-2 after a Reese McGuire walk forced home their first run of the evening. Rafaela is slashing a meager .211/.255/.379 on the year but is batting .263 over the last two weeks.     • Cracks homer in win
      Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Rafaela's fifth-inning, two-run shot gave Boston a lead it never relinquished. It was the Red Sox's first home run in a span of 220 at-bats dating back to April 27 when Rafaela connected as part of a four-hit game against the Cubs. He was hitting just .156 leading up to that four-hit game, which appears to have triggered his bat.
