    • Permits one run over four frames
Parker took a no-decision in Saturday's win over the Marlins, permitting one run on six hits and two walks over four innings.

Advice: The Marlins made Parker work, particularly in the first inning when he gave up two singles, walked two and allowed a run on a wild pitch. He needed 82 pitches to cover his four frames, ultimately costing him what would have been an easy win. It was easily Parker's least impressive of his three starts so far in the majors, but he did still manage to give up just the one run. The lefty's next start is tentatively slated to come on the road versus the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:04 pm
    • Hitting pause on rehab
Sewald (oblique) will have his rehab slowed a bit due to soreness, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Sewald felt some soreness following a rehab appearance with Triple-A Reno earlier this week. He had been scheduled for a bullpen session Saturday, but that has been scrapped. While it does not seem to be a major setback for the reliever, Sewald no longer appears poised to return soon. Kevin Ginkel will continue to serve as the Diamondbacks' closer while Sewald recovers. • Mitchell Parker gives up one over four vs. Marlins
Mitchell Parker allowed one run over four innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Marlins.

Advice: It’s disappointing that Parker wasn’t able to go deeper in this one, as the southpaw was given plenty of run support and would have easily qualified for the win. It was another effective outing for the 24-year-old, however, and he’s now registered an ERA of 1.69 since being promoted to the Washington rotation. He’ll face Texas on Thursday. • Paul Sewald slowed a bit due to renewed soreness
Paul Sewald (oblique) will not throw a scheduled bullpen session on Saturday due to renewed soreness in his oblique.

Advice: The Diamondbacks aren’t calling it a major setback for the right-hander, but they will slow down his rehab a bit to make sure not to push him. It initially looked as though Sewald could join the Diamondbacks’ bullpen in the coming days, but now it looks like Kevin Ginkel may be working the ninth inning for another week or so. • Idle against lefty
Frelick isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Frelick will step out of the lineup Saturday as the Brewers prepare to face lefty Carlos Rodon. Joey Wiemer will fill in as Milwaukee's left fielder and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:29 pm

    • Won't start Saturday
Melendez is not in the Royals' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Melendez has gone 0-for-12 over his last four starts, reaching base once on a walk over that span. Dairon Blanco will start in left field and bat eighth against Tigers right-hander Casey Mize. Rotowire.com Today, 2:14 pm

    • Snaps slump, logs steal
Steer went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Steer snapped an 0-for-18 skid in the third inning then stole his sixth base in 26 games and is on pace to surpass the 15 steals he had in 2023. That's the good fantasy news. On the other side, that hitless run came at the tail end of a 5-for-40 (.125) stretch with no extra-base hits and one RBI over 11 games. Rotowire.com Today, 6:58 am

    • Swipes two bags
De La Cruz went 0-for-2 with two walks, stole two bases and scored a run in Cincinnati's loss to Texas on Friday.

Advice: Despite not being able to tally a base hit during Friday's game, De La Cruz was able to make his presence felt by drawing a walk in the first inning and eventually stealing home to score Cincinnati's first and only run of the game. He walked again and stole second base in the fifth inning, giving him an MLB-best 17 thefts on the season. Along with his exceptional baserunning, the 22-year-old infielder has been outstanding at the plate, slashing .299/.419/.621 with seven homers and 18 RBI through his first 105 plate appearances. • Bullpen scheduled
Sewald (oblique) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sewald threw 21 pitches (14 strikes) in a rehab appearance earlier in the week and felt the right kind of soreness a day later. Following Saturday's session and presuming all goes well, the reliever is likely to head out for a second rehab outing. Rotowire.com Today, 5:43 am
