      Advice: Garcia was due for some luck, and he got it tonight, as both of his doubles came on balls hit less than 80 mph. His highest EV in the contest, a 104-mph grounder, actually produced an out. The Royals have remained very patient with Garcia in the leadoff spot, and odds are that he’ll only get better from here.       Advice: Five of Minnesota's runs came in the first inning, including three on a Manuel Margot double. Gilbert hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in his last five starts, recording quality starts in six of his previous seven outings. His ERA went from 1.69 to 2.94 after Thursday with a 0.94 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 52 innings.       Advice: Gilbert allowed nine hits with two walks while adding for strikeouts. To say the right-hander was a disappointment was an understatement, as he entered this outing with a sensational 1.69 ERA over 48 innings. That ERA immediately took a hit with five runs allowed in the first, and three more crossed the plate before ending his 91-pitch day. The Twins are on fire and Gilbert was due for a poor outing, but this is still not one fantasy managers could have seen coming. He’ll be back on the bump against the Royals on Tuesday.       Advice: Sale allowed at least one hit in each of his first five innings of work but was consistently able to work his way through it without sustaining any damage. He logged just one 1-2-3 inning, which came in the sixth, while fanning a season-high 10 batters on the night. The veteran lefty has now logged quality starts in three of his last four outings and hasn't produced fewer than six strikeouts in any of his seven starts this season.       Advice: Carpenter continued his solid play this season, as he's now batting .269 with an .801 OPS. He's collected eight doubles so far but only three home runs across 36 games.       Chris Sale was utterly dominant with six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts and picked up the win in the 5-0 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

      Advice: Sale lowered his ERA on the season to 2.95 with the excellent outing. He certainly showed the Red Sox what they’re missing after trading him last offseason. The win was Sale’s fifth in seven starts this season. His 52 strikeouts are in the top 10 among qualified starting pitchers. Sale is set to take on the Chicago Cubs at home next week.
