    • Kerry Carpenter homers twice as Tigers rout Astros
Kerry Carpenter blasted a pair of home runs on Saturday as the Tigers routed the Astros 8-2 at Comerica Park.

Advice: Carpenter put the exclamation point on a seven-run second inning with a 350-foot (106.5 mph EV) two-run blast that chased Astros’ starter Cristian Javier. He also added a 384-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Hunter Brown in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 8-2. It’s the third multi-homer game of Carpenter’s young career. The 26-year-old slugger finished the evening 2-for-5 is now hitting .275/.333/.523 with five homers and 18 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:53 pm

    • On bench Saturday
Campusano is not in Saturday's lineup against the Dodgers.

Advice: Campusano is hitting .304 with one home run and three doubles in seven games this month. Kyle Higashioka is starting at catcher and batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:13 pm
    • Heads to bench Saturday
Merrill is not in Saturday's lineup against the Dodgers.

Advice: Merrill will head to the bench with lefty James Paxton starting for the Dodgers. Jose Azocar is starting in center field and batting eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:10 pm

    • Finding stride at plate
Acuna went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Mets.

Advice: He took Jose Quintana deep in the third inning, part of a four-run frame for Atlanta. Acuna may be turning things around at the plate -- after posting a 26.5 percent strikeout rate in April, he's fanned just 19.4 percent of the time through the first seven games in May. He's also batting .310 (9-for-29) to begin the month with two of his three homers on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:31 am
    • Homer, double in win
Campusano went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Campusano opened the scoring with a third-inning solo shot. He added a double in the ninth, and pinch runner Tyler Wade scored on Luis Arraez's walkoff single. Campusano has reached base safely in each of his last six games, going 7-for-19 (.368) with two walks and six RBI in that span. The catcher is up to three homers, 10 doubles, 23 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .283/.323/.442 slash line through 35 contests this season in a starting role behind the plate. • Luis Campusano homers in victory over Dodgers
Luis Campusano hit a solo homer in a victory Friday over the Dodgers for the Padres.

Advice: Campusano got the only hit of the game for the Padres while Tyler Glasnow was in the game, and it was a solo homer to give San Diego a 1-0 lead. The 25-year-old catcher remains a solid — and quite frankly, underrated — catching option, as he’s hit three homers, driven in 23 runs and slashed .283/.323/.442. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:58 pm
    • Blaze Alexander finishes 0-for-4 against Orioles
Blaze Alexander went 0-for-4 and struck out twice against the Orioles on Friday.

Advice: Alexander has been taking a backseat to the steadier glove of Kevin Newman now that he’s cooled off at the plate, and the start today was his second in Arizona’s last five games. He’s gone hitless in his last four appearances in the lineup, and his OPS has dropped from 1.000 on Apr. 19 to .803 currently. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:32 pm

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. goes deep in win
Ronald Acuña Jr. hit just his third home run of the season Friday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: A welcome sight, Acuña’s homer was an impressive shot traveling an estimated 461 feet through the cold, rainy New York night at 114.2 mph exit velocity. Acuña’s power hasn’t been there yet this season, but patience is a virtue with a superstar of this level. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 pm
    • Sitting against lefty
Donovan isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Left-hander Robert Gasser will make his MLB debut Friday as Milwaukee's starting pitcher, meaning the left-handed bat of Donovan will begin the game from the Cardinals' dugout. Lars Nootbaar, Mike Siani and Dylan Carlson will start across St. Louis' outfield while Donovan sits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:23 pm
