• Ryan Bliss doubles twice, drives in two in rout
Ryan Bliss doubled twice and picked up three hits in a blowout win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Bliss also scored a run. The 24-year-old rookie has picked up six hits in his seven at-bats against Miami in the series, and that’s helped improve his slash to .283/.353/.457. The question now becomes what Seattle does with Bliss when Jorge Polanco (hamstring) comes off the injured list, and what kind of role he’d serve if he did stay on the roster. Based on what he’s done in the majors, he deserves playing time, but Seattle will want him to get regular at-bats somewhere. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:36 pm

  • Suffers left elbow bruise
Sosa was diagnosed with a left elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of Saturday's 12-1 win over the Diamondbacks, Brooke Destra of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Though X-rays have cleared Sosa of a serious injury, he should be considered day-to-day heading into Sunday's series finale. He went 0-for-1 with a run scored prior to exiting. Rotowire.com Saturday, 3:25 pm

  • Amed Rosario suffers facial lacerations on Saturday
Amed Rosario suffered facial lacerations when he was hit in the face by a 99.6-mph fastball during Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: It sounds like the 28-year-old infielder was extremely fortunate to have avoided any broken bones in a terrifying situation on Saturday afternoon. It’s unclear if Rosario is going to require a trip to the injured list or will miss any time with the injury, but it’s incredibly encouraging to hear the early diagnosis. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:59 pm

  • Suffers cuts to face Saturday
Rosario suffered facial lacerations stemming from being hit by a pitch during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Pirates, but the Rays are optimistic that he avoided any fractures, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Rosario was removed in the first inning after being struck in the face by Jared Jones' 99 mile-per-hour fastball. Fortunately for Rosario, initial X-rays to his face haven't shown any structural damage, but the Rays may look to stay away from using him for a few days while he waits for his cuts to heal. • Lifted after HBP
Rosario was in the face by a pitch during the first inning of Saturday's game against the Pirates and was removed from the contest, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

  • Amed Rosario (face) leaves game after hit by pitch
Amed Rosario was removed from Saturday’s game against the Pirates in the first inning after taking a 100-mph fastball from Jared Jones off of his face.

Advice: Yikes. Fortunately, Rosario was able to walk off the field under his own power. It’s unclear where exactly the pitch clipped him on the left side of the face, or if it glanced off of the ear flap on his helmet first. Either way, he’ll head for further evaluation to determine the extent of the damage. The Rays should have an update on his status as soon as one becomes available. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:22 pm

  • David Hamilton back in Saturday’s lineup vs. Reds
David Hamilton (side) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Reds.

Advice: Hamilton is back in Boston’s lineup after missing two of their last three contests due to some lingering left side discomfort. The 26-year-old speedster should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point since he’s batting .315 (29-for-92) with three homers and 16 stolen bases over his last 30 games. His game-changing speed is a factor for fantasy purposes, even if he’s going to bat near the bottom of the lineup more often than not. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:19 am

  • Perfect night at plate Friday
Bliss went 3-for-3 with an RBI triple in an extra-inning loss to the Marlins on Friday. He also was caught stealing on his only attempt.

Advice: The rookie had his best night in the majors yet, posting his first multi-hit effort and first triple at the big-league level. Bliss was also caught stealing for the first time in five attempts, but this effort gave his batting average and OPS respective 59- and 145-point boosts to .238 and .700. • Sitting again Saturday
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: McKinstry has gone 0-for-18 with eight strikeouts in his last six contests, and he'll now sit down for the second game in a row Saturday. Ryan Kreidler will pick up another start at shortstop, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:25 am
