• Fans nine in victory
Gray (3-1) picked up the win Saturday versus the Mets, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: The Mets plated four runs during a sloppy fifth innings by the Cardinals which included a Nolan Arenado error. Just one of the runs on Gray's ledgers was earned, however, and he was in total control outside of that frame, facing just three over the minimum. Gray tripled his season walk total with three free passes in this one, but with the nine punchouts he now has an excellent 32:4 K:BB over his first 23.1 innings with St. Louis. • Shut down after setback with elbow
Brash has been shut down after having a setback with his right elbow while playing catch Friday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Advice: Brash is headed to Dallas to receive an opinion from Dr. Keith Meister on his injured elbow. It sounds like the setback is a significant one, with Mariners general manager Justin Hollander saying the team is "concerned." Brash had been closing in on a rehab assignment, but his status in the short- and long-term is very much up in the air. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Edward Cabrera struggles late in loss to Nationals
Edward Cabrera was charged for six runs — five earned — in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Cabrera was pitching well over the first four frames, but the fifth was a disaster that saw him give up a grand slam to Jesse Winker. He walked two and struck out four in a start that sees his ERA balloon to 5.28. Cabrera will try and bounce back with a home start against the Rockies on Thursday. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Hammered by O's
Sears (1-2) took the loss Saturday as the A's were dropped 7-0 by the Orioles, surrendering seven runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The lefty looked great the first time through the order, retiring the first nine batters he faced, but Baltimore jumped on Sears for three runs in the fourth inning and back-to-back solo shots by Adley Rutschman and Ryan Mountcastle in the fifth, before Gunnar Henderson chased him from the game in the seventh with a two-run blast. Sears did set a new season high in strikeouts and generated 33 called or swinging strikes among his 98 pitches, but he was made to pay when he missed his spots in the strike zone. He'll carry a 4.64 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB through 33 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Marlins. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Mitchell Parker gives up one over four vs. Marlins
Mitchell Parker allowed one run over four innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Marlins.

Advice: It’s disappointing that Parker wasn’t able to go deeper in this one, as the southpaw was given plenty of run support and would have easily qualified for the win. It was another effective outing for the 24-year-old, however, and he’s now registered an ERA of 1.69 since being promoted to the Washington rotation. He’ll face Texas on Thursday. • Matt Brash (elbow) shut down from throwing again
Mariners’ right-hander Matt Brash (elbow) has been shut down from throwing again and will visit Dr. Keith Meister.

Advice: Uh oh. Brash had been making progress in his recovery from inflammation in his elbow, but he attempted to play catch on Friday and told the training staff that every throw felt terrible. You don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but it sounds like surgery could be in the cards for the 25-year-old hurler in the near future. The Mariners should have an update on his status after that visit. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Paul Sewald slowed a bit due to renewed soreness
Paul Sewald (oblique) will not throw a scheduled bullpen session on Saturday due to renewed soreness in his oblique.

Advice: The Diamondbacks aren’t calling it a major setback for the right-hander, but they will slow down his rehab a bit to make sure not to push him. It initially looked as though Sewald could join the Diamondbacks’ bullpen in the coming days, but now it looks like Kevin Ginkel may be working the ninth inning for another week or so. • Hit hard in Saturday's loss
Kikuchi (2-2) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on nine hits over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 4-2 to the Dodgers. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Advice: While the southpaw did manage to keep the ball in the yard, he still gave up some very loud contact, including three extra-base hits and an RBI single by Shohei Ohtani in the second inning that left his bat with a stunning exit velocity of 119.2 mph. Kikuchi saw his quality start streak end at three, but he'll take a strong 2.94 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 36:8 K:BB through 33.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the Nationals. • Josh Winckowski tosses three scoreless on Saturday
Josh Winckowski tossed three scoreless innings with one strikeout in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Winckowski took the mound for his second start of the season with the team missing Bryan Bello, Garrett Whitlock, and Nick Pivetta. He tossed three scoreless innings against the Cubs, working around three hits while striking out one. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and a 19/8 K/BB ratio across 18 innings. Winckowski could continue to work as a multi-inning opener until the rotation gets some healthy starters back. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
