• Pitches well in no-decision
Irvin did not factor into the decision Saturday in Boston, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It's the first time in 32 career starts at the big-league level that Irvin completed seven innings. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to pick up a win for his efforts, as the right-hander departed with the game tied and then watched reliever Robert Garcia cough up a couple runs in the eighth inning. Irvin has permitted two or fewer runs in five of his last six outings, lowering his ERA to a season-low 3.55. His next projected start is a difficult one on the road versus the Phillies. • Sent to Triple-A
Winckowski was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Saturday, Sean McAdam of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The move clears the way for Brayan Bello (lat) to be activated ahead of his start Sunday against the Nationals. Winckowski has more walks (six) than strikeouts (four) over his last 14.2 innings (seven appearances). He'll likely be back up at some point when the Red Sox need a fresh bullpen arm. • Raisel Iglesias gives up solo homer vs. Mets
Raisel Iglesias allowed a solo homer while picking up a strikeout in a relief appearance Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Atlanta didn’t allow a hit over the first 8 2/3 innings, but Iglesias gave up the no-no — and the shutout — but allowing a homer to J.D. Martinez. Iglesias also gave up another hit and a walk, but he was able to escape the jam; although the escape comes without a save since he entered the game with a 4-0 lead. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm
  • Max Fried no-hits Mets over seven innings in win
Max Fried went seven no-hit innings to help Atlanta to a 4-1 win over the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: For the second time in three starts, Fried has not allowed a hit. Unfortunately, his pitch count has prevented him from being able to complete the no-no in both, and he was done Saturday after throwing 109 pitches. The Mets wouldn’t pick up a hit until a solo homer off Raisel Iglesias J.D. Martinez in the ninth. Still, the left-hander was once again awfully impressive, and he struck out five against three walks without really being challenged throughout the outing. Fried will take a 3.57 ERA into his next scheduled start, which is penciled in for Friday against San Diego. Rotoworld Today, 3:57 pm

  • Christian Scott strikes out eight, allows three vs. ATL
Christian Scott was charged for three runs over six innings with eight strikeouts in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Scott walked two, and he scattered eight hits in a solid start against one of the better lineups in baseball in just his second MLB start. The right-hander has certainly shown his swing-and-miss stuff with 14 strikeouts in those first two outings with a 2.84 ERA showing he’s limited the damage when hitters do put the ball in play. Scott looks legit, but faces the red-hot Phillies next week. Rotoworld Today, 3:57 pm

  • Kenley Jansen whiffs two while picking up save
Kenley Jansen struck out two while picking up a save against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Jansen didn’t allow a hit and threw 12-of-16 pitches for strikes. The 36-year-old remains effective in the closing role, and he’s up to six saves while lowering his ERA to 1.86 on the 2024 campaign. Tough to complain about those results. Rotoworld Today, 3:28 pm

  • Jake Irvin holds Red Sox to two over seven innings
Jake Irvin allowed two runs while working seven inning in a no-decision Saturday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Irvin scattered four hits without issuing a walk, and he was able to strike out six. It’s the first time this season that the 27-year-old has been able to get through seven innings — he had worked six in four previous outings — and for the most part, it was another solid outing for a pitcher that doesn’t get a lot of fantasy acclaim. He’ll take a solid 3.55 ERA into an outing Friday against the Phillies. Rotoworld Today, 3:28 pm

  • Cooper Criswell whiffs nine in no-decision vs. WSH
Cooper Criswell struck out nine over five innings of two-run baseball against the Nationals on Saturday while picking up a no-decision.

Advice: Criswell allowed only three hits, but two of those were solo homers to make that number a smidgen less impressive. The right-hander did miss plenty of bats in this one, however, in what was another effective start for the 27-year-old. Criswell actually saw his ERA go “up” to 2.10 after this outing, and while he may not go deep, he’s worth considering against the Rays on Thursday. Rotoworld Today, 3:28 pm

  • Jordan Romano collects sixth save with scoreless 9th
Jordan Romano struck out two without allowing a run to pick up a save Saturday against the Twins.

Advice: Romano did give up a double, but he was able to keep the Twins off the board while picking up his sixth save of 2024. That number is more impressive when you remember Romano missed time with injury to begin the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:20 pm
