    • Can't convert save opportunity
Neris (6-2) took the loss and blew a save against the Giants on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter over one inning.

Advice: Neris entered in the top of the ninth frame with Chicago leading by two runs. He got one out before Jorge Soler reached base on catcher's interference. Mike Yastrzemski followed with a walk before Thairo Estrada gave San Francisco the lead with a three-run homer. Though Neris retired the following two batters, the damage had been done, and the Cubs weren't able to mount a comeback in the bottom of the frame. The blown save was the fourth of the season for Neris and his third over his past seven chances. He's allowed nine earned runs across his past 8.2 frames, so his hold on the closer position may be tenuous. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:14 pm
    • Neris blows save as Cubs lose 7-6 Monday
Hector Neris allowed three runs, blew the save and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: The Cubs’ lead evaporated quickly in the ninth inning. With one out, Jorge Soler reached on a catcher interference. After Neris issued a walk to Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada hit a three-run home run to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. Neris now has four blown saves on the year including two blown saves in his last three opportunities. Neris’ ERA is now 4.73 on the year. His grip on the closer role loosens with every blown save. • Picks up fourth win
Sanchez (4-3) went seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) to earn the win Monday against the Padres. He gave up six hits, one walk, and struck out five.

Advice: Sanchez was impressive Monday against San Diego as he allowed only one extra-base hit. It was the eighth start this season in which he's allowed one earned run or fewer. The lefty matched his season high for innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 2.91 in the process. The 27-year-old is tentatively scheduled to pitch again this weekend versus the Diamondbacks. • Cristopher Sánchez goes seven in win over Padres
Cristopher Sánchez was charged with two runs (one earned) over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Sánchez limited San Diego to just six hits over seven frames as their lone runs of the contest came on a fifth-inning ground out from Jake Cronenworth and a run-scoring double by Donovan Solano in the seventh inning. He struck out five and only issued one walk, getting plenty of run support from Philadelphia’s offense to cruise to his fourth win of the year. He’ll bring a strong 2.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 66/24 K/BB ratio across 77 1/3 innings (14 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm
    • Extends hit streak to nine games
Wong went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple and three RBI in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Wong delivered a two-run triple in the seventh inning then singled in a run an inning later. The catcher upped his hit streak to nine games, during which he's 12-for-31 (.387) with six walks, six RBI, one steal and four runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:15 am
    • Not yet running
Diaz (calf) hasn't resumed running since landing on the 10-day injured list Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Diaz is no longer walking with a limp, but he hasn't yet made enough progress in his recovery from a left calf strain to resume on-field work. The veteran backstop is without a clear target date for a return from the IL, and fantasy managers shouldn't count on him returning at any point during the Rockies' upcoming seven-game week. • Posts season-high seven Ks
Eflin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

Advice: Eflin entered the sixth inning with a four-run lead, but after retiring the first two batters in the frame, he allowed four consecutive singles and was removed one out shy of completing six full innings. The seven strikeouts marked a season high for Eflin, who had failed to record more than three strikeouts during any of his previous five starts. He'll carry a 4.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next start, currently slated to take place over the weekend when the Rays travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. • Connor Wong smacks two-run triple as Red Sox win
Connor Wong smacked a two-run triple on Sunday night, helping to lead the Red Sox past the visiting Yankees.

Advice: Wong opened the game up in the home half of the seventh inning, smacking an opposite-field two-run triple into the right field corner to increase the Red Sox’ advantage to 7-3. He also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the season, the 28-year-old backstop is hitting an impressive .330/.395/.456 with five homers, 24 RBI and three stolen bases. • Blasts 11th homer
Westburg went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored Sunday against the Phillies.

Advice: It was the 18th multi-hit game of the season for Westburg, whose 11th homer came with two on in the fifth and represented the fourth long ball of the day allowed by Phillies starter Zack Wheeler. The 25-year-old is experiencing a breakout in his second big-league season, posting an impressive slash line of .278/.332/.504 with 11 home runs, 42 RBI, 37 runs and six steals over 268 plate appearances.
