Those numbers are sure to correct -- a .412 BABIP indicates that -- but Wong has improved his contact rate on pitches in the zone, jumping up to 84.2 percent compared to 74.3 percent in 2023.       Advice: All the damage against Burnes came in the fifth inning when Oswaldo Cabrera launched a two-run home run. Despite allowing three or fewer runs for a seventh straight start, Burnes was stuck with the loss Wednesday as the Orioles offense could only manage three total hits and didn't score. While Burnes has allowed a home run in six of his seven starts this season, he owns a 2.61 ERA over 41.1 innings with 41 strikeouts -- the sixth most in the American League.       Neris worked around a hit to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Shota Imanaga dominated the Mets across seven innings, and then Neris shut things down to secure his fifth save of the season. The veteran righty has pitched well since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, as Neris has allowed just one earned run over his last five appearances, lowering his season ERA to 3.27.       Connor Wong went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI on Wednesday, propelling the Red Sox to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Giants.

      Advice: Wong started things in the fourth inning with a leadoff double off of Daulton Jefferies, then raced around to score on an RBI double by Enmanuel Valdez. He also drove in a run of his own with a two-out RBI double off of Mitch White in the seventh inning.       Advice: Neris was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a one-run lead. He recorded one out, then hit a batter and gave up a double to put the tying run on third and the go-ahead run in scoring position.       Corbin Burnes logged a quality start in Wednesday’s loss to the Yankees, giving up just two runs on four hits over six strong innings of work.

      Advice: The Orioles’ ace struck out six batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him — and in the game — came on a two-out, two-run homer off the bat of Oswaldo Cabrera in the fifth inning that just barely stayed fair and creeped over the wall in right field. Burnes got 14 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the contest — seven of those on his slider — while registering an elite CSW of 34 percent.
