      Advice: Neris entered in the top of the ninth frame with Chicago leading by two runs. He got one out before Jorge Soler reached base on catcher's interference. Mike Yastrzemski followed with a walk before Thairo Estrada gave San Francisco the lead with a three-run homer. Though Neris retired the following two batters, the damage had been done, and the Cubs weren't able to mount a comeback in the bottom of the frame. The blown save was the fourth of the season for Neris and his third over his past seven chances.       Advice: The Cubs’ lead evaporated quickly in the ninth inning. With one out, Jorge Soler reached on a catcher interference. After Neris issued a walk to Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada hit a three-run home run to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. Neris now has four blown saves on the year including two blown saves in his last three opportunities. Neris’ ERA is now 4.73 on the year. His grip on the closer role loosens with every blown save.       Sanchez (4-3) went seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) to earn the win Monday against the Padres. He gave up six hits, one walk, and struck out five.

      Advice: Sanchez was impressive Monday against San Diego as he allowed only one extra-base hit. It was the eighth start this season in which he's allowed one earned run or fewer. The lefty matched his season high for innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 2.91 in the process. The 27-year-old is tentatively scheduled to pitch again this weekend versus the Diamondbacks.       Cristopher Sánchez was charged with two runs (one earned) over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Padres.

      Advice: Sánchez limited San Diego to just six hits over seven frames as their lone runs of the contest came on a fifth-inning ground out from Jake Cronenworth and a run-scoring double by Donovan Solano in the seventh inning. He struck out five and only issued one walk, getting plenty of run support from Philadelphia’s offense to cruise to his fourth win of the year.       Eflin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Eflin entered the sixth inning with a four-run lead, but after retiring the first two batters in the frame, he allowed four consecutive singles and was removed one out shy of completing six full innings. The seven strikeouts marked a season high for Eflin, who had failed to record more than three strikeouts during any of his previous five starts. He'll carry a 4.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next start, currently slated to take place over the weekend when the Rays travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates.       Burnes (8-2) earned the victory Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Burnes matched a season high by allowing nine baserunners, but it didn't matter as he limited the damage, allowing only two runs over six innings as the Orioles provided him with eight runs of support. Burnes has still yet to allow more than three earned runs in any start this season, and he's allowed two or fewer runs 12 times in 15 games. He also notched his 10th consecutive quality start Sunday. Burnes will carry a 2.14 ERA and 1.04 WHIP into his next start, currently scheduled to take place when the Orioles travel to Houston to take on the Astros next weekend.       Advice: Mikolas held the Cubs scoreless through six, then was pulled following a one-out double by Ian Happ in the seventh. Happ later came around to score, but the Cardinals held the Cubs scoreless the rest of the way to secure the fifth win of the season for Mikolas. It was the second straight start Mikolas entered the seventh having allowed zero runs and the fifth straight quality start for Mikolas, who holds a 2.58 ERA and 0.73 WHIP over 31.1 innings during that stretch. The 35-year-old veteran will look to continue to turn back the clock in his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Giants make their way to St. Louis.       Corbin Burnes allowed two earned runs in six innings in an 8-3 win over Phillies on Sunday. He struck out seven, walked two, and scattered seven hits.

      Zach Eflin allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Braves. He allowed seven hits while walking one and striking out seven.

      Advice: Eflin continues to flash the brilliance he showed last season while faltering in key moments. He cruised through five innings after a lead-off home run by Jarred Kelenic but unraveled with two outs in the sixth. It’s frustrating to see him fall one out shy of the quality start while the bullpen blew his win despite objectively pitching well against Atlanta. His ERA sits at 4.12 on the season.
