      Ronald Acuña hit a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in an extra-inning loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Acuña Jr. hasn’t shown a ton of power in the early portion of the season, but he came through in a big way with a game-tying homer in the eighth off Daniel Hudson in the eighth. That’s just the second roundtripper of the season for the reigning MVP, but it’s hard to fathom the power isn’t going to come from a player that swatted 41 homers in 2023.       Gray (4-1) allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Gray allowed just one extra-base hit and retired the final eight batters he faced. He's been excellent since returning from a brief stint on the injured list to begin the year; Gray has given up just three earned runs through 30.1 innings while producing a 38:5 K:BB.     • Sonny Gray blanks White Sox over seven in victory
      Sonny Gray didn’t allow a run over seven innings with six strikeouts to help the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Gray was outstanding against a White Sox lineup that shouldn’t be legal. The right-hander gave up just three hits over those seven frames, and he issued one walk while throwing 65-of-94 pitches for strikes. Over his last two starts, Gray has allowed just a single earned run while striking out 15 over 13 innings. That’ll work. He’ll face the Mets next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:45 pm
       
    • Marcus Stroman walks five in no-decision Friday
      Marcus Stroman struggled with his command in a no-decision against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing one run on three hits and five walks over his 5 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander struck out three batters on the evening. While he allowed plenty of traffic on the basepaths, the only run that scored against him came as Colt Keith worked a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning. Stroman got just four swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 24 percent. The 33-year-old hurler will carry a 3.41 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 35/20 K/BB ratio (37 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Astros. Rotoworld Today, 7:13 pm
       
    • Brady Singer whiffs eight, allows one run vs Texas
      Brady Singer struck out eight over six innings of one-run baseball against the Rangers on Friday, but didn’t factor into the decision.

      Advice: Unfortunately for Singer, Michael Lorenzen held the Royals to just one run while he was in the game. Fortunately for Singer and fans of Kansas City, they scored the next six runs, but alas, no victory. Fantasy managers do get plenty of strikeouts, however, and he lowered his ERA to 2.45 in the process. Singer will try and keep the good run going when he faces the Brewers on Wednesday.       Paredes (arm) is the designated hitter and batting second for Friday's game against the Mets.

      Advice: Paredes got the day off Wednesday with some soreness in his arm and body but returns to the Rays lineup in a non-defensive capacity.       Parker (2-1) took the loss against Texas on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.1 innings.

      Advice: Parker had his least-effective outing through four big-league starts, giving up a season-high three runs while taking his first career loss. The southpaw still managed to keep Washington within striking distance, but the Nationals' offense failed to scratch against four Rangers pitchers.       Doval earned a save against the Red Sox on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

      Advice: Doval entered in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run lead and retired the side in order on 14 pitches. He's given up just two runs over 11 innings since a rough season debut against San Diego on March 30.       Lindor (illness) went 2-for-3 with a pair of two-run doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Cubs.

      Advice: Lindor was held out of the lineup Thursday after departing Wednesday's contest with an illness. However, he'd come off the bench as a pinch hitter for Joey Wendle in the sixth inning, pulling a two-run double to cut the Mets' deficit to 5-4. Lindor would then deliver his biggest hit so far this season in the 11th, doubling down the left-field line to drive in two more and give New York a 7-6 walk-off victory. Lindor's struggles early this year have been well documented, though he's starting to show signs of turning things around at the plate -- the 30-year-old shortstop's gone 9-for-29 with three doubles and three home runs in his last eight contests.
