    • Goes yard twice in loss
Baty went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Rays.

Advice: The young third baseman took Aaron Civale deep for a three-run blast in the second inning to open the scoring, and he then connected for a solo shot off Jason Adam in the ninth. It was the first multi-homer performance of Baty's big-league career, and it snapped a 27-game drought for the 24-year-old -- his only other long ball in 2024 came back on March 30. Despite the power outage, Baty has taken a big step forward in his development this year, and through 30 contests he's slashing .271/.340/.385, a massive improvement on last season's .212/.275/.323 line. • Brandon Marsh knocks in two in Phillies’ win
Brandon Marsh had a two-run single and a stolen base Friday as the Phillies edged the Giants 4-3.

Advice: Marsh is still in a little rut that’s seen him go 3-for-19 with no extra-base hits and 10 strikeouts in his last six games. He got off to a fast start last year, only to cool off in May. We suspect that he’s a better player now than he was then, but he’s probably going to remain streaky with his strikeout tendencies. • Amed Rosario collects three hits in win over Mets
Amed Rosario had a nice night at the dish in Friday’s victory over the Mets, going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder reached on an infield single to start the second inning and scored the Rays’ first run on a ground out off the bat of Jonny DeLuca. He then smacked an RBI single off of José Quintana in the third inning that gave the Rays a 4-3 lead they would never relinquish. He then came around to score on a two-run single by DeLuca. Rosario has been a bright spot in the Rays’ lineup this season, slashing a healthy .309/.327/.427 with two homers, 15 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 29 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Brett Baty homers twice as Mets fall to Rays
Brett Baty went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI on Friday night as the Mets fell to the Rays in a slugfest at Tropicana Field.

Advice: Baty opened the scoring in the ballgame, crushing a two-out, 378-foot (109.2 mph EV) three-run shot off of Aaron Civale in the second inning. That lead would be short-lived though. Baty then added a 421-foot (107.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Jason Adam in the ninth that pulled the Mets to within two runs at 10-8, but that would be as close as they would get. With his three-hit attack, Baty is now hitting .271/.340/.385 with three homers and 13 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Sitting again
Velazquez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Velazquez has been less and less of an everyday option for the Royals as the team continues to trot out lineups with Salvador Perez as first, Vinnie Pasquantino at DH and Freddy Fermin behind the dish. Velazquez hasn't done much to warrant an everyday role after starting the season red-hot, with just one hit in his last 27 at-bats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:40 pm
    • Double, RBI in loss
O'Neill went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Advice: O'Neill had a terrific first month in a Boston uniform and continues to outperform his career standards. The outfielder has a 1.096 OPS, second in MLB behind only Mookie Betts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:16 am

    • Tyler O’Neill drives in run, reaches three times
Tyler O’Neill drove in a run while reaching three times in a loss to the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: O’Neill was responsible for the only run of the game for the Red Sox with a double off Kyle Harrison in the third that scored Rafael Devers. O’Neill was also able to draw a pair of walks, and he improves his line in 2024 to .309/.429/.667. Calling his first month-plus as a member of the Red Sox is quite the understatement. • Hits bench Thursday
Wade is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Wade went 0-for-6 with three walks and an RBI while starting at first base in each of the last three games, but he'll get a day off as the Giants and Red Sox wrap up their series with an afternoon contest. Wilmer Flores will join the San Francisco infield as a replacement for Wade. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:12 am

    • Big night in win
Wong went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-2 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Wong has been a consistent producer at the dish, never going more than one game without a hit. The catcher, who recorded his eighth multi-hit game Wednesday, is slashing .366/.367/.620 through 75 plate appearances. Those numbers are sure to correct -- a .412 BABIP indicates that -- but Wong has improved his contact rate on pitches in the zone, jumping up to 84.2 percent compared to 74.3 percent in 2023.
