    • Luis Robert homers to give White Sox 1-0 victory
Luis Robert went 2-for-3 with a homer in a victory over Atlanta on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader.

Advice: Robert’s homer was not only the only run Chris Sale allowed and not only the only the only run for the White Sox, it was the only run scored by either team Thursday. The 26-year-old has homered eight times in his 103 at-bats while driving in 12 runs. Robert Jr. has enormous fantasy potential, but it sure would be nice to see him playing for a team that had a semblance of competence. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Seiya Suzuki doubles and triples in victory
Seiya Suzuki doubled and tripled in an extra-inning victory Thursday over the Giants.

Advice: Suzuki drove in a run with his triple in the third to give Chicago a 3-0 cushion. He’s now tripled twice in 2024, while the double was his 11th of the campaign. Suzuki has three extra-base hits over the last two games to help improve his slash to .266/.337/.459. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

    • Ian Happ blasts go-ahead homer in 10th vs. Giants
Ian Happ hit a go-ahead homer in the 10th to help give the Cubs a 5-3 win over the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Happ gave the Cubs a 5-3 lead with a two-run shot off Luke Jackson to give Chicago the 5-3 lead and ultimately the victory. The 29-year-old had been scuffling as of late with just two hits in his last 21 at-bats coming into the contest, but he was able to procure his 10th homer and 41st and 42nd RBI in this one. Happ’s consistency is basically nonexistent, but he’s capable of going on streaks. Perhaps this is the start of a good one. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

    • Manuel Margot drives in pair in blowout victory
Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a victory over the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: He also scored twice in a game where Minnesota crossed the plate 13 times. Margot picked up his RBI with an infield single in the second and a sacrifice fly an inning later. The 29-year-old has been hitting at the top of the lineup against southpaws as of late, but his .238/.307/.325 slash shows he hasn’t really taken advantage of that slot. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Byron Buxton blasts bomb in blowout
Byron Buxton hit a three-run homer while going 3-for-4 in a 13-6 rout of the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Buxton also scored three runs. The three-run blast came off Scott McGough and gave Minnesota a 11-0 lead and it travelled 456 feet. The outfielder is starting to pick things up offensively, and he’s picked up three hits in two of his last three games while improving his slash to .261/.311/.449. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Sitting Thursday
Canha is absent from Thursday's lineup against the Angels.

Advice: Canha had started Detroit's last 22 games but hit only .211 in that span. He had a 15.9 percent strikeout rate in that span -- lessening the reason for concern -- though he'll still get a day of rest. Gio Urshela is sliding to first base, Matt Vierling to third, and Adkil Baddoo enters the lineup in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 4:40 pm

    • Lars Nootbaar starting rehab assignment on Friday
Lars Nootbaar (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday with Double-A Springfield.

Advice: Nootbaar told reporters Thursday that he expects to play at least five or six rehab contests before returning to the majors. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has been on the shelf since late May recovering from a moderate oblique strain. He’s been snake-bitten by injuries this season, but remains an impactful fantasy contributor, when healthy. Rotoworld Today, 3:01 pm

    • Will Brennan to IL with rib cage inflammation
Guardians placed OF Will Brennan on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 25, with rib cage inflammation.

Advice: Brennan heads to the injured list after missing a couple games earlier this week due to a possible oblique issue. He’s been diagnosed with rib cage inflammation, so the hope here is that he isn’t facing a lengthy absence. There should be an official return timetable in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 2:38 pm
