    • Verdugo has two-hit game Monday
Alex Verdugo went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: Verdugo’s RBI was his 35th of the season. He’s hitting .265 with a .753 OPS on the year. Verdugo batted fourth with Aaron Judge out of the lineup, though he regularly hits in the middle of the order. He’s been a solid but unspectacular contributor for New York this year. • Fans nine in loss
Pepiot (4-3) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Pepiot struggled to contain an imposing Orioles lineup, allowing a career-high nine hits. However, it wasn't all bad for the Rays righty as he generated an impressive 16 whiffs en route to nine strikeouts. Following this four-run appearance, Pepiot has thrown a 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68:16 K:BB over 58.1 innings this season. The 26-year-old faces another difficult test in his next start, scheduled to be at Atlanta this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:08 pm

    • Cracks leadoff homer in win
Henderson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored in Monday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: Henderson crushed the first pitch of the game 430 feet for his 21st homer of the season and ninth career leadoff blast. The Orioles shortstop has been scorching hot in June, hitting .350 (14-for-40) with three homers, 13 runs scored and five RBI this month. Overall, Henderson is slashing .274/.375/.599 in 296 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:03 pm
    • Gunnar Henderson hits 21st homer in win over Rays
Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-5 with his 21st home run of the season on Monday, leading the Orioles to a 5-2 victory over the Rays.

Advice: Henderson led off the contest with a gargantuan 430-foot moonshot to straightaway center field -- his seventh leadoff homer of the season -- to give the Orioles an early advantage and put him just three round-trippers behind Yankees superstar Aaron Judge, who leads the majors with 24 big flies. He also added a pair of additional hits, including a double, to cap off a stellar three-hit performance. It was his fifth three-hit effort of the year and 20th multi-hit game. The 22-year-old fantasy stalwart has been on an absolute tear since the start of June, batting .350 (14-for-40) with three homers and one steal over 10 games during that span. • Ryan Pepiot strikes out nine in loss to Orioles
Ryan Pepiot struck out nine and allowed four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Pepiot put together an extremely impressive performance as solo homers from Gunnar Henderson and Ryan O’Hearn, respectively, represented the only damage against him early on until O’Hearn added a two-run double in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss. He generated 16 swinging strikes, including six on his changeup alone, and finished with a robust 35 percent CSW. The 26-year-old righty has excelled in his Rays debut this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts. He’ll bring a sparkling 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68/16 K/BB ratio across 58 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Saturday against the Braves at Truist Park. • Expected back Tuesday
San Francisco is optimistic that Chapman (hamstring) will be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Houston, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Chapman is missing his second straight contest Monday due to a hamstring cramp, but his absence isn't expected to last much longer. The Giants figure to re-evaluate the third baseman in the morning before making a final decision on his availability for Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:13 pm
    • Matt Chapman (hamstring) expected back Tuesday
Matt Chapman, out Monday for a second straight day with a hamstring issue, is expected back on Tuesday.

Advice: That from manager Bob Melvin. Casey Schmitt is playing third base again tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:09 pm
    • Returns to lineup at DH
Soto (forearm) will start at designated hitter and bat second Monday in Kansas City, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Soto missed the previous three contests with left forearm inflammation but is feeling well enough to return to action for the start of the Yankees' series against the Royals. He will be eased into action at DH and it's possible the team will keep him there for a bit in order to protect his forearm. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:19 pm

    • Out of lineup Monday
Chapman (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Chapman will sit for a second straight game due to a hamstring cramp he sustained in Saturday's game against the Rangers. Casey Schmitt will start at the hot corner and bat ninth against Houston right-hander Spencer Arrighetti. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:18 pm
