    • Luis Arraez scores two runs in win over Cubs
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored on Wednesday, leading the Padres to a 3-0 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez wound up reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances, crossing the plate in the first and fifth innings, respectively, on run-scoring hits from teammates Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth. The 27-year-old batting title contender has a pair of multi-hit performances in five contests since arriving last week in San Diego. Rotoworld Today, 2:17 pm

    • Robert Suarez notches 12th save on Wednesday
Robert Suarez fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to notch his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Suarez got the call to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and neeeded just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to spin a flawless frame. The hard-throwing 33-year-old stopper has converted all 12 of his save opportunities this season to accompany a microscopic 0.55 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (15 appearances). Simply put, he’s emerged as one of the best closers in baseball, which has made him one of the best values in offseason fantasy drafts. Rotoworld Today, 2:17 pm
    • Chris Bassitt pitches into seventh in victory
Chris Bassitt pitched 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball and struck out six Wednesday as the Blue Jays bested the Phillies 5-3.

Advice: The Jays wanted a little extra from Bassitt today with Yimi Garcia still unavailable and a tired bullpen after Tuesday’s 10-1 loss, and they got it, even though Bassitt didn’t get through seven as he would have liked. Bassitt struck out six and walked two. The win makes him 3-5 with a 5.06 ERA ahead of next week’s outing against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm

    • Strong effort vs. Phillies
Bassitt (3-5) earned the win Wednesday over the Phillies, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It was an impressive outing from Bassitt, as the right-hander limited a powerful Phillies offense to just three hits to snap a three-start losing streak. It's been an inconsistent start to the year for Bassitt though he seems to be rounding into form of late, delivering back-to-back quality starts. He lowered his ERA to 5.06 with a 1.55 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across his first 42.2 innings this year. Bassitt's currently lined up for a road matchup against the Orioles in his next outing early next week. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Goes on IL with rotator cuff strain
The Rangers placed Dunning (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.

Advice: The roster move is retroactive to Sunday, one day after Dunning made his seventh start of the season while taking a no-decision against the Royals. The Rangers haven't indicated that Dunning sustained the injury at any point during that outing, but the right-hander's shoulder was evidently bothersome coming out of that start. Dunning is without a precise target date to return from the IL, though manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that the 29-year-old isn't expected to have an especially lengthy stay on the shelf. While Dunning joins Nathan Eovaldi (groin), Max Scherzer (back), Cory Bradford (ribs), Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Tyler Mahle (elbow) on the shelf, the Rangers should have back-end rotation spots available for both Jose Urena and Jack Leiter. • Picks up 12th save
Finnegan struck out one batter during a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save Tuesday against Baltimore.

Advice: Finnegan has been one of the most reliable closers in the big leagues this season, and he now leads the majors after picking up his 12th save Tuesday. The 32-year-old right-hander owns a 1.76 ERA and 0.85 WHIP, and he's struck out 15 batters across 15.1 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Today, 11:02 am
    • Rangers place Dane Dunning (shoulder) on IL
According to Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, Dane Dunning is headed to the injured list with a shoulder issue.

Advice: Wow. Dunning was scheduled to pitch against the Rockies on Friday, but now he’ll be sidelined for at least the next two weeks. The 29-year-old has posted a 4.10 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 43/17 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings this season. Rotoworld Today, 11:00 am

    • Bound for IL with shoulder injury
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Dunning will be placed on the 15-day injured list with a shoulder issue, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It's not clear at this point how or when Dunning was hurt, nor have the Rangers offered up a timetable for his return. With Nathan Eovaldi (groin) also hitting the IL recently, the Rangers could need Jose Urena and Jack Leiter to remain in the rotation for multiple turns. Dunning has collected a 4.10 ERA and 43:17 K:BB over 37.1 frames covering seven starts this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:59 am

    • Brewers activate Christian Yelich from 10-day IL
Brewers activated Christian Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Yelich is back in the lineup for the Brewers on Wednesday after he was sidelined for the last three weeks. The 32-year-old outfielder is off to a good start this season slashing .333/.422/.744 with five home runs and 11 RBI in his first 11 games. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 am
