      Musgrove didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts over six innings against the Reds.

      Advice: After being tagged for seven runs and four long balls in his last start, Musgrove set a season high in strikeouts and notched his fourth quality start of the campaign. While three of the four hits did go for extra bases, including a first-inning solo homer by Spencer Steer, Musgrove was able to keep his opponent to less than three runs for the first time in four starts. Through eight starts, Musgrove owns a 2.2 HR/9 after having not allowed more than 1.1 HR/9 since 2017. He's tentatively scheduled for a start Tuesday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.     • Joe Musgrove dazzles with nine strikeouts vs. Reds
      Joe Musgrove posted a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Reds.

      Advice: Musgrove cobbled together one of his strongest performances of the season to date, It was a much-needed bounce-back effort after being shelled for seven runs on eight hits, including four homers, over 3 2/3 innings his last time out against the Phillies. His average fastball velocity was back above 93 mph in this one as he induced 14 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 32 percent CSW. He’ll bring an inflated 6.37 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 36/13 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Cubs at historic Wrigley Field. It’s going to take a while for his surface stats to improve after some ugly early-season disasters, but this outing was an encouraging step in the right direction.     • Stumbles in Boston
      Webb (3-2) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on nine hits and three walks over 3.2 innings as the Giants fell 4-0 to the Red Sox. He struck out four.

      Advice: After four straight starts in which he lasted at least seven innings and allowed two runs or less, Webb struggled to put away hitters and generated only four swinging strikes among his 91 pitches. Despite the stumble, the 27-year-old right-hander still sports a 2.98 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB through 42.1 innings, and he's served up just one homer so far in 2024.     • Logan Webb knocked out early by Red Sox
      Logan Webb allowed four runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Webb allowed just two extra-base hits, but the Red Sox tagged him early and often on Tuesday as Webb allowed an average exit velocity on balls in play of 99.5 mph. However, it just seems like a bad outing. He struggled to find the command of his changeup, which led to just a 13 percent whiff rate and the Red Sox hitters were able to tee off when he did land his pitches in the strike zone.     • Victim of home run ball in loss
      King (2-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings.

      Advice: King struggled to keep the ball in the yard in this one. Bryson Stott got to him for a pair of two-run homers and J.T. Realmuto swatted one out against him in the sixth. His lack of command continues to haunt him, as he's now allowed 10 home runs in seven starts and has walked multiple batters in all but one appearance. The 29-year-old sports a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB in 36 innings and will line up for a road start against the Diamondbacks his next time out. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:40 am

      Pfaadt did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over six innings.

      Advice: Pfaadt did not get off to an ideal start after allowing a leadoff home run to Josh Rojas, though he was able to settle in quickly with the only other extra-base hit being a triple by Leonardo Rivas. Pfaadt ended his day by retiring the final 11 batters he faced. His 11 strikeouts set a new career high, and he relied heavily on his sweeper, registering nine of his 17 whiffs on that pitch. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB into his next start, projected to come against San Diego next weekend.       Lopez (2-2) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in five innings Sunday, striking out eight and picking up a win over the Angels.

      Advice: Lopez tossed four shutout frames before the Angels caught fire in the fifth inning, plating four runs. Three of those runs came via back-to-back homers by Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. Lopez forced 13 whiffs after totaling just five in his last outing against the White Sox.       Pablo López picked up his second victory of the 2024 season on Sunday, limiting the Angels to four runs on four hits over his five innings of work.

      Advice: López punched out eight batters on the afternoon while allowing only one base on balls. He kept the Angels off the board completely through the first four innings, but they saddled him with four runs in the fifth — courtesy of home runs from Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. López generated 13 swings and misses on 87 pitches in the contest, posting a strong CSW of 29 percent. He now holds a 4.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 37/7 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll do battle against the Red Sox his next time out at home on Saturday.       Michael King was hit hard in a losing effort against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon, surrendering six runs on six hits across 5 1/3 innings.

      Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, he still did manage to punch out six batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. His troubles in this one stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Bryson Stott crushed a pair of two-run homers off of him and J.T. Realmuto added one of his own. King got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 40/21 K/BB ratio (36 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:19 pm
