    • Luis Gil handles Astros in win on Tuesday
Luis Gil allowed one run on one hit in six innings in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Gil was effectively wild on Tuesday, which is something we’ve come to expect from the 25-year-old. He walked four on the day and had just a 42 percent zone rate; however, he also had a 23 percent whiff rate and struck out five batters. Much of Gil’s success came on the changeup which had a 40 percent whiff rate, while his four-seam fastball was his most effective strike pitch. At some point, Gil is not going to be able to keep walking this tightrope, but he has a 2.92 ERA on the season and has two solid outings coming up against the Rays and White Sox. • Burnes allows three earned runs in loss to Nats
Corbin Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Burnes needed 50 pitches to get through the first three innings and allowed his first run in the second inning when Joey Meneses singled home Jesse Winker. He allowed four base runners through the first three innings but would settle in to retire nine of 10 hitters in innings four through six. He’d be chased quickly in the seventh after a leadoff double by Joey Meneses was followed by RBI singles from Eddie Rosario and Trey Lipscomb, but it was an otherwise solid outing for Burnes, who lacked offensive support in this one. He’ll look to tally his first win of May when he toes the rubber Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Today, 6:16 pm

    • Naylor hits ninth homer in loss Tuesday
Josh Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in the loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Advice: Naylor continues to rake as he improved his average to .276 and his OPS to .917 with his ninth home run Tuesday. He seems poised to cruise past his career-high 20 home runs this season. Naylor’s .276 ISO this season is 100 points above his career .176 ISO. He now has 28 RBI in 34 games. Rotoworld Today, 6:08 pm

    • Battling illness
Moreno isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup Tuesday against the Reds due to an illness, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Manager Torey Lovullo said Moreno will be available off the bench Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks will likely do everything they can to give him the day off to rest. Tucker Barnhart is starting behind the plate and batting eighth in Moreno's place. Rotowire.com Today, 3:24 pm

    • Gabriel Moreno sitting out Tuesday due to illness
Gabriel Moreno is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds due to illness.

Advice: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that Moreno is available off the bench and the hope is that he’ll be ready to return to the lineup on Wednesday. It’ll be Tucker Barnhart handling the catching duties for the second straight game on Tuesday night. Rotoworld Today, 3:11 pm

    • Luis Arraez not in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Luis Arraez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez takes a seat to open Tuesday’s contest at Wrigley Field with southpaw Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber after starting three consecutive games for San Diego since being acquired over the weekend from the Marlins. The 27-year-old second baseman has five hits and one RBI in 15 at-bats over three contests since being picked up by the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Idle Tuesday
Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago.

Advice: After starting and batting leadoff in each of his first three appearances with the Padres, Arraez will get the day off Tuesday. While it's possible Arraez could cede work against lefties -- the Padres are facing southpaw Shota Imanaga Tuesday -- Arraez was part of the team's lineup Monday against Justin Steele, who's also left-handed. Manny Machado will DH Tuesday while Donovan Solano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Not facing lefty
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: As customary, Carpenter will slide to the bench with southpaw Logan Allen on the mound for the Guardians. In his stead, Ryan Vilade will make his 2024 debut and handle right field. Rotowire.com Today, 1:21 pm
    • On bench again
Moreno is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Moreno will cede catching duties to Tucker Barnhart for a second consecutive game Tuesday. Moreno is slashing .241/.340/.322 with a 12 percent strikeout rate through 100 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 pm
