    • Tossing bullpen
Junis (shoulder/head) threw a bullpen session ahead of Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Junis has resumed his throwing program after his rehab from a right shoulder impingement was derailed by a ball that struck him in the head during batting practice April 22. The right-hander was shifted from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL shortly after the incident and is on schedule for a return sometime in June. Hogg also reports that Junis is set for a live bullpen session Friday and would begin a rehab assignment next week if the live bullpen session goes well. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

    • Headed to IL with sore elbow
The White Sox placed Clevinger on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 25, with right elbow inflammation, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Clevinger had been slated to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays but has landed on the IL instead. It's not yet clear how serious the injury is or how much time Clevinger might miss. Jake Woodford is coming up from Triple-A Charlotte to start Tuesday and he could be needed for multiple outings. • Set for another rehab outing
Miller (shoulder) will make his next minor-league rehab start Friday or Saturday and is scheduled to throw about four inning, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Miller allowed three runs and threw 55 pitches over three frames in his first rehab outing Sunday with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, and it's no surprise he'll require at least one more appearance in the minors before rejoining the Dodgers. The 24-year-old could be back in the big-league rotation as early as next week, but it's also possible he'll require a third rehab outing. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Jakob Junis (shoulder/head) throwing bullpen Tuesday
Jakob Junis (shoulder/head) is throwing a bullpen for the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: Junis is on the 60-day injured list while recovering from a shoulder injury and also is dealing with a head injury he suffered after he was struck by a ball in batting practice. Junis is eligible to come off the 60-day injured list Tuesday, but there’s no timetable yet for his return. Rotoworld Today, 12:36 pm

    • Gives up four runs in rehab outing
Tarnok covered 1.2 innings and gave up four earned runs on one hit and two walks in his latest rehab appearance for Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Advice: Tarnok has worked as a starter for most of his minor-league career and in his brief time in the big leagues, but Oakland may be preparing him for a relief role upon his return from the 60-day injured list. The 25-year-old righty -- who has been on the shelf all season while recovering from August surgery on his right hip -- has been deployed out of Las Vegas' bullpen in each of his last four rehab appearances. He hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of those appearances and owns a 13.50 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over his five total rehab outings, so Tarnok looks like he'll need more time to iron out the kinks during his rehab assignment before he becomes a realistic option for the Oakland pitching staff in any capacity. • Brett Kennedy booted off roster by Reds
Reds designated RHP Brett Kennedy for assignment.

Advice: Kennedy was only with the Reds for five days, and he’ll be removed from the active and 40-man roster with Alex Young (back) reinstated off the 60-day injured list. If Kennedy goes unclaimed, he has the option to report back to Triple-A or elect free agency. Rotoworld Today, 12:01 pm

    • Exits 40-man roster
Kennedy was designated for assignment by the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: The transaction frees up a spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters for the return of Alex Young (back) from the 60-day injured list. Kennedy was with the Reds for a handful of days and didn't make an appearance. Rotowire.com Today, 12:00 pm

    • Stuck on 7-day IL at Triple-A
Triple-A Gwinnett placed Ynoa on its 7-day injured list April 23 with right elbow inflammation, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Ynoa posted a 6.52 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB across 9.2 innings in his first three starts with Gwinnett before hitting the shelf. More than a month after being shut down, Ynoa is still without an official timeline for a return. The 26-year-old right-hander held some fantasy utility in 2021 when he turned in a 4.05 ERA while striking out more than a batter per inning over 17 starts with Atlanta, but he hasn't resurfaced at the big-league level since undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2022. While Ynoa still possesses a spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster, he'll still likely find himself behind several other pitchers in the pecking order for a promotion once he's healthy. • Back from injured list
The Reds activated Young (back) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Young is finally ready for his season debut after recovering from low back disc degeneration. The left-handed reliever allowed just one unearned run over 11 innings on his rehab assignment. Young made 63 appearances out of Cincinnati's bullpen in 2023, posting a 3.86 ERA and 50:20 K:BB in 53.2 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
