    • Three hits in win
Vazquez went 3-for-4 with one run scored and one steal in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Advice: After hitting just .121 (4-for-33) with a home run through his first 11 games, he's hitting .474 (9-for-19) over his last five games. He continues to split playing time behind the plate with Ryan Jeffers, with Jeffers frequently getting starts at DH when Vazquez is behind the dish. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
    • Jose Alvarado slams door on Padres in ninth inning
Jose Alvarado slammed the door on the Padres in the ninth inning on Sunday, retiring all three batters that he faced to protect a two-run advantage.

Advice: Alvarado came out guns blazing in this one, striking out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before getting Jurickson Profar on a line drive to right field to end it. The 28-year-old left-hander has struggled a bit to start the season — sporting a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings, but he has converted all five of his save chances and remains the Phillies’ go-to option in the ninth inning. • Taijuan Walker gives up six, beats Padres in debut
Taijuan Walker had mixed results in his season debut on Sunday, earning a victory over the Padres despite the fact that he allowed six runs on eight hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Walker punched out four batters on the afternoon while issuing a pair of free passes. The Padres got to him for three runs in the third inning as Fernando Tatis Jr. smacked an RBI double and rode home on a two-run blast by Jake Cronenworth. They tacked on three more as Luis Campusano clubbed a three-run shot in the seventh inning. Walker generated 10 swings and misses on 90 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll hope for better results overall when he squares off against the Giants at home on Saturday. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • Jose Altuve hits seventh homer in Astros’ victory
Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 with a homer, a walk and three runs scored as the Astros topped the Rockies 8-2 in Mexico City on Sunday.

Advice: Altuve’s homer projected at 438 feet, his longest blast since Oct. 7, 2020. He hadn’t hit a ball farther than 404 feet this season, though that hadn’t stopped him from amassing six homers coming into the day. He’s batting .342/.414/.596 in 128 plate appearances. • Framber Valdez picks up win in return from IL
Framber Valdez won in his return from the IL on Sunday, allowing two runs over five innings against the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Sharp even without the benefit or a rehab assignment, Valdez struck out six and walked none today. He threw 71 pitches, which is right where Houston wanted him in his first start back from elbow inflammation. He’ll face the Mariners at home next time out. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Austin Gomber gives up four runs in loss to Astros
Austin Gomber yielded four runs in seven innings Sunday to take a loss to the Astros in Mexico City.

Advice: Considering that the pitching environment in Mexico City is typically significantly worse than in Coors Field, this is a solid enough showing for Gomber. That he has a 4.50 ERA after six starts is a nice surprise, particularly since he seemed totally lost while posting a 9.95 ERA this spring. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Mauricio Dubón goes 0-for-4 against Rockies
Mauricio Dubón went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ center fielder Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Jake Meyers isn’t supposed to be hurt, but he hasn’t started since taking a pitch off his forearm on Wednesday. Dubón has played center field in two of the last three games, while Chas McCormick slid over to center on Saturday. Dubón’s .279/.302/.393 line isn’t anything special, and while he’s fine there, he’s not quite the center fielder that Meyers is. He really shouldn’t be getting the majority of the playing time. • Luis Campusano belts three-run homer in loss
Luis Campusano went 1-for-2 and belted a three-run homer as the Padres fell to the Phillies on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: Campusano entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Kyle Higashioka in the seventh inning and responded by crushing a 397-foot (106.2 mph EV) three-run blast off of Taijuan Walker that pulled the Padres to within a run at 7-6. That would be as close as they would get. The 25-year-old backstop is now hitting .290/.320/.430 with a pair of homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Michael King hit hard in loss to Phillies Sunday
Michael King was hit hard in a losing effort against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon, surrendering six runs on six hits across 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, he still did manage to punch out six batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. His troubles in this one stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Bryson Stott crushed a pair of two-run homers off of him and J.T. Realmuto added one of his own. King got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 40/21 K/BB ratio (36 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
